Weird bolt/screw when doing diffuser swap?

I was following the DIY for installing a new rear diffuser, and immediately ran into a road block. Where it said there should be a T20 torx head bolt on the sides by the exhaust was instead a weird little bolt that looks like you'd need a Y shaped bit to undo. I went to HomeDepot to see if they had anything and the guy had no clue where I could find a tool for this.

Did you try, instead, to remove the nut on the other side?

Just a thought

I tried a bit with my fingers, I can't even tell if it's actually a nut on the other side. It's a very tight cramped spot.

Turns out it's been replaced by a rivet. Trying to figure out now how to break/cut it in that tight spot

Yep it's a rivet and you need to drill it to get it loose.

got to love rivets in plastic. you get them too hot drilling them out and the plastic melts around them

It should be soft enough to squish it flat with a heavy wire cutter if its a rivet.

I'd just gently drill the rivet out. even if the plastic around it melts a bit, you can always use washers if you ever plan to reuse it.
