Lowering Springs!!
So I've finally decided I want to lower the 63. I know that i don't want to go with coils, so I'm looking for the lowest spring that they make. So far I've only found H&R sports. Is there anything else?! I appreciate all help! Thanks!

What about KW. People have been having issues with H&R. I had them on and sold them. Now looking into getting KW. Yes they are more expensive but worth it in the long run.

I didnt hear people having issues with H&R springs, only coilovers. KW are the best coilovers for our cars, but they are very pricey at 2k$+ !!

I can't remember which members it was but at least 2 have said that if they could do it over again they would chose KW...I am too lazy to search. Too much sound with H&R, they would give out, rubbing, and issues and contributed to power steering...

I had H&R springs on my first C63. This second time around I'm going with KW coilovers. I know the cost is substantially higher, but I just really didn't like how harsh the ride became with H&R springs.

H&R springs are the inexpensive and quickest way of lowering our car. So far I'm happy with the result/ride. But for sure KW are top notch.

I had the P30 suspension on my C63, ride was high and stiff.
After extensive research, I opted for the H&R springs compared to the KW springs. Upon installation, I thought I'd be in trouble with rubbing with a full load and the tire wear as the camber has automatically became more aggressively negative on the rear end.
I use my car as a daily drive and til this day, I have had no problems with it, especially on Michelin's PS2.
Now here's the deal, with coilovers you have the liberty of manually changing the height of the car and thus will reduce the negative camber to save your tires. With the simple replacement of springs, you have a really nice lowered stance on the car, but may reduce your tirewear more than what you have right now.
I've learnt from other members that you may slightly increase the height on the rears with the replacing the current spring pads (14mm) to the 17mm.
So the choice is yours

I would stick with h&r just because they are so cheap. Again, I never heard of any problems with h&r so that could be just a isolated incident. Many people are running these springs and a very happy, me included. If you are doing track time, then I would definitely suggest KW. If it's your DD, h&r. My suspension actually got softer than my OEM springs believe it not.

I just removed my brand new H&R springs to install C/O's so they are for sale ($225 shipped) I have maybe 200 miles on the springs. LMK if you're interested and save almost $100

Labor to put on the H&R springs is the same as labor for H&R coil overs which work much better. Spend the extra money for the coil overs.

But i would not recommend installing springs only in the front. Your car will probably be unbalanced and aesthetic wise it won't look good IMO.

I believe I heard some members mention that most aftermarket springs are rated the same for the shocks, etc which means eventually your shocks will blow and you will have a really rough ride.
In the end I would also recommend just going with the full kw coilover system

The H&R coil overs are the best bang for the buck assuming this is primarily a street car. Also consider installing rear upper adjustable control arms (about $300 at ACG in San Diego) as lowering the car will induce more rear negative camber and there is no factory adjustment for it. (The rear tires wear out fast enough without additional help.) Also install front camber bolts (crash bolts). If it's worth doing it's worth doing right. Be aware you may experience some minor increase in noise in the rear end suspension as you are replacing rubber spring top mounts with alloy adjustable collars.

Why so many ppl complained about noisy/squeaky H&R coilovers? Bad batch or bad install?

It's not a bad batch or a bad install. The factory uses rubber pads between the springs and perches. This absorbs naturally occurring spring noise. Coil- overs use a height adjustable alloy collar instead of the rubber pads in the rear (the rear of the C63 is not true coil-overs as the shock does not sit inside the coil). Hence some spring noise is transmitted into the cabin. Its a trade off for better handling. If you just use lowering spring, the pads are retained, but the shocks will wear out pretty fast.
