My Chrome is peeling off on the cup holder rings. My dealer wants $500 to fix it is there any cheaper way to fix it?

I bought two new US-spec cupholder trims (whole plastic trims with chrome rings) for $80 at my dealership.

Here is the part number:
A204 680 0307

Yes went there today and thats what they quoted me for the part with labor. I see there is a euro spec model with out the chrome would you know where to get that one and how much? Also how hard is it to change myself?

So if the part is $80, they wanted to charge you $420 for labor?!
You only need to unscrew one torx screw and replace the cupholder trim.
It's literally a 2-minute job.

If you want the euro-spec armrest, you can get it at your dealership.
There is another member selling his euro-armrest at the moment.

Euro-spec armrest part number A2126800298 9G23. It costs around $300 at the dealership.
You can get an optional cupholder divider for it as well - part #A2046802391

Mine is doing the same. While I am at it, the 2 vent adjusters on the drivers side (either side of steering wheel) also came off.

My warranty just expired a week ago too heh. And I never get the chance to get into the dealer since I travel all week

Thanks for all your help. Went to my dealer today and they had one left in stock. Replaced it for $83 bucks. Only took about two minutes to change like you said. They were trying to sell me the whole console.

To be honest $500 for a console is still a rip-off beacuse the whole console costs about $300 haha

I see nothing changed in the way of quality with cupholder chrome since the w203.

I just stopped by the dealer the other day about this! They wanted $120 for the part but I just found on ebay for half that price. Black Cover Center Console Cup Holder Trim.

I also asked for the COMAND knob. $379.
