Are you serious? You let the dealer wash your car? Neo, don't listen to him your car is Matte they gonna mess it up if they wash it with their shiny soap. Tell them explicitly not to wash it. Nothing worst than a dealer car wash with their dirty towels.

I gotta agree with Guilty on this one. I never let the stealer wash my car, especially if my car would be matte. Big no no. Lol

I only let 2 establishments wash my car...the dealership (because I have an excellent relationship with several SA's and they know I don't BS around) and my body shop guy (because he's as OCD as I am and has basically repainted half of my car already).

Yeah... even the SA at the dealership told me he wouldn't let them wash it LOL.

That sucks. It pisses me off that Mercedes doesn't admit there is a manufacturing defect in the steering column.
Now they need to order the new parts and a special DRT key to reprogram your keyless go.
My car was almost 2 weeks at the dealership

Sorry to revive such an old thread.. Just had the same issue myself. This really sucks, had to get the car towed from work on a flatbed.. My particular car has had the eis/steering lock replaced three times prior to this. I've done a lot of searching but don't see a fix other than have everything replaced. Mercedes Benz keeps replacing the parts with the same design and hasn't altered them at all to alleviate this problem.. It's ridiculous. Has anyone recently had this issue and had it fixed permanently?

Since new our keyless go would work and then not in any determinate pattern wouldn't work. You could drive it a while and next tiem it would work or maybe not.
Earlier this year it, finally wouldn't start at the dealers. they tried computer programming and so on.
Ordered two new keys and it has worked flawlessly ever since. However I keep opening the trunk with the key in my pocket. I need one of those covers.
I'll go by MB today and see if I can get one.
