Went to the drag strip for the first time
Tonight was the first time I had my C63 at the drag strip. I had a good time, beat a supercharged C6 corvette 3 out of 4 races, only because he could not launch the car. He was trapping 125-126 and I was 117-118. I thought my car would have been a little faster(hoping for an 11.6-11.7) but I guess for a full weight non pp c63 It ran ok given the conditions. My best pass was
1.846 60 ft
7.712 1/8 mi@ 93.81
11.89 1/4 mi@ 117.57
I had several other passes in the 11.90's all around 117.5 I have Nitto DR's, MHP LT headers and mids, and an OE 93 octane tune, ROW air boxes and afe dry filters. The DA was around 1250 all night, it was still 82* after 9:00 tonight according to my car.
I know I could remove some weight from the car(spare tire, less fuel etc etc) to improve the ET but how are some of you guys getting low 1.7 60ft times? I had my tires at 18-19 psi and was getting good traction trying to foot brake the car to around 1600-1800 rpms. Is there a better technique? Are there any secrets that I am missing out on? Any input would be appreciated, I want to go back when it gets a little colder to see how much that will improve the times
Also wondering how much OE race gas tune would help

would it really depend on the track? I mean i've been doing runs all summer and the best i've ran is 12.4.. running stock with second cat delete and res delete on stock tires! I put 91octane and I also use race start. Is there something I should do to improve? It seems like everyone here is doing under 12 seconds! Should I stop using race start and just gas and brake? should I put 94 octane?

Well at least my times are in line with others people that have similar mods. What are the easiest/best light weight mods? I really dont want to change the hood or truck. Im sure brake rotors and wheels would help out a good bit b/c of the rotating mass. Do you guys remove anything from the car beside the spare and jack?

Please dont compare times from different tracks and different days, they absolutely will not be the same.
Engines are AIR PUMPS. IF you are running at a different track in different conditions, you will have different results.
Run your car at your local track against others and that's as good as its going to get.
Some of these tracks have different equipment for recording the times as well. That also comes into play... Look at these guys at ATCO in -600 DA... that air is unheard of around here... We have a track thats 10 hours away at sea level and NA cars will be around half a second faster than locally.
I get to the track at 6pm, its hot out, but 11pm it cools down the car or bike will be running quicker... Its all in the air.

Passenger seat is 65# and only takes 10 minutes to remove. Just as easy to put back. There are different exhaust systems that will also help lose weight that stays gone but expensive.
