Lost my 507 Sedan order offered a coupe at discount. Opinions
So I lost my 507 Sedan due to the Bremen plant being booked. I've been offered a coupe at discount. It's still more than $3K over what I was paying for the sedan same options plus leather. My question is even though I'm not really into the coupe the price is attractive. I could always drive it a couple of years then sell it without a huge loss. Here is my quote. The largest part of the discount is because it's MIL/Diplomat sales...no tax..etc..etc but they are also discounting the upcharge on the coupe since I lost my sedan.
Should I jump on this? My only hesitation is spending this much on a car and it not being perfect. That said I do see the opportunity I have when others are paying much more.

You are only getting 1700$ discount? I say pass & find the right 4 doors C63 you wanted. I got around 4000$ off (5%), so 1700$ is normal.

Drive a couple years and sell equals 35-50% of your money gone. C63 with no leather, very strange. To me the coupe is ugly, the car was designed and looks best as a sedan.

In terms of strait up discount for my trouble yes...1700. However, the sales program is 10% off all options and $6275 off the MSRP of the coupe itself. Building same car on MBUSA and it is $86,410.
I agree it looks better as a 4 door but being that I can't get one this may have to do.

So I have been waiting to order one of these, saving etc...after reading this thread I stepped up the process a bit due to a "shortage".
I am not claiming that what you have been told is not true, I saw the email chain and it sure made me jump into action, I am just not sure the context.
In calling dealers what I have been told is to expect a long wait...not that one cannot still be ordered, if a dealer has an allocation it seems possible. In terms of long, if placed today I was told Jan/Feb delivery. I still have some feelers out and will get more info as it rolls in.
I was also told there was no hold, restriction on the 507 sedan due to production shift - again just that you need to be prepared to wait - a long time.
I find it a little hard to believe that this early in the production cycle there are simply no other sedans to be accepted via the 507 package. Mercedes never claimed anything about this being "certain number" of units made model..
Again - I am just as anxious to get one as you are but is there miscommunication in "no more", "ever"...vs. a very long wait?
I think the things that we are reading regarding production times, engine shortages and shifts in production are real...I think that just translates into longer wait periods for the system to catch up.
Just my 02. and again not to discount or discredit what has been discussed, just trying to get a broader range of feedback from folks ordering.

Yeah I understand what you are saying. I'm in Germany and working through a specific program so my situation may be different.

If you think you can sell in a couple years without a huge loss, remember your driving an AMG. Look on autotrader for what 2010 are going for and they are around 40k. I consider 30k loss pretty huge to me. Good luck and get the sedan 507..
Just realized your in Germany... Maybe used prices for AMG don't take as big hits compared to the States..

They all come with the Leather/Dynamica combo as standard. The leather package gets you all leather seats and door inserts (i.e. no dynamica).
There is no other dealer to go to. It is Torpedo or nothing. OP send me a PM, curious where you're at exactly in Germany. I've got a few buddies in K-Town area that I'm trying to get a Cars & Coffee thing going in the next few months.

507 SEDAN
You didn't want a coupe to begin with.
I say skip the deal and find that 507 sedan you originally wanted. Even with a decent deal on the coupe, it's not what you want.
There are 507 sedans to be had. Search and find one at another dealer, or have your dealer search one out for you.

Reading the dealer P61 "507" build document on page 3 it shows the Sedan will end production November 2013 at the Bremen plant.
