The guys on BITOG think it's a good oil and that's good enough for me. I may try it in the M Coupe in lieu of TWS.

In slow traffic and city driving with stop and go's, I typically hit 221F for engine temperature, and coolant gets as high as 197F. But on the freeway with light traffic going around 70ish mph I typically get 217F for engine oil, and 195F for coolant.

On cold nights, I've seen 215F/185F but very rare. And this is going 100+ mph (which I don't recommend doing ) for 15-20 second intervals.
Those are good numbers for stock coolers and different oil ! I have a few cooling mods Black Series oil/trans cooler, 180F Coolant thermostat, Thermalnator gaskets, Real ceramic coated headers(swaintech), and reflectagold on all the intake components. A few nights ago it was 55F i was cruising 7th gear at 85mph and saw 181 coolant and 208 on the oil :-) I was able to get the coolant into the 170's by blasting the heat but that was just for fun not practical. Stop and go the temps are about the same as stock since not much air is moving thru the coolers but the big difference is when beating on the car i cant get it to go over 240 and i tried. Very hard lol

LubroMoly / LiquiMoly is a good oil. Was running it in both my E36 M3 and Audi S4.

The hood scoops draw hot air out of the engine bay. Might help lower intake temps by reducing heat soak, but won't change the fact that the oil coolers aren't big enough for track duty.

If you have a 180 degree thermostat then the unit will stay closed when cold and gradually open up as the temp reaches 180 after which time the stat is fully open, if outside temps drop the stat will slowly close to try to maintain 180 or in the case of extreme temp difference the stat will close completely to allow engine temp to rise. Engine temp should be stable to the temp of the stat. If as with Ezec63 the temp will drop 10 degrees then that just tells me the stat is very slow to react. Coolant Temp in both my cars remain constant even in hot weather when idling in traffic, but of course the fans do kick in to hold the temp down.
