255 - Performance Media

This feature is not available in Australia because, as my dealer informs me: "We cannot offer Performance Media on the C 63 as it has been developed for European/American markets only". Que? how can a feature like this not be vailable for Aussies? has it got to do with the racetrack profiles stored in it? we got few of those here... or is it because we eat our national symbols Down Under, and with the performance media at hand we would turn into race psychos? Or is there some other valid technical reason for it. Any ideas?

You could as well ask why the US doesn't get folding mirrors as an option. Those craaazy Germans...

I was told it was available on cars produced after a certain date (late availablity) or (delayed availability) something along those lines. Wish my car had performance media along with some power folding mirrors. JK - Really couldn't care less about the folding mirrors (the 335 I traded had it and I used it maybe a dozen times. If I'm concered enough to fold them I probably woln't park there). Folding Mirrors must be why those Aussie cars cost so much.

The real reason for the cost difference is that we earn so much more money down here. Every time we run out of money we dig a hole and sell whatever we find in it.

I was thinking the same thing before I even read your comment. Especially because you and I just went through this.

I am astounded at the difference that our cars have based on where they go. Most of them just don't make sense. Why can't I have folding mirrors and you the performance pack??

It seems that all could be easily offered, as there is nothing standing in the way. (read, these options are already developed and speced for these cars already and installed on most, either or)

my sentiment precisely. can the forum, as a gathering of brand enthusiasts with significant amount of dosh spent on MB gear, exert some pressure on the MB decision makers to provide some intelligent answers as to when this selective feature allocation tomfoolery will be stopped? if there are no valid technical reasons for not offering specific features to specific markets, then do offer them MB. after all, let the customer decide what he/she wants to buy. it's their money and everybody would be happier for it.

Actually it's avail. I checked with the dealer that placed the order for my car.

Question is for 2500$ is it worth it?
