MBH headers installation tips?? C63BS

Got my headers a few days back from MBH motorsports! cant wait to put them on. I had a look underneath the car and the space is really tight. My shop is busy with a few urgent builds so wont be able to take the car in for atleast another 10 days
Would be great to get advice from people that have already done the install on how to best proceed with it. I was told that the engine needs to be freed from its mounts to allow for the headers to slip into the tight area.

Would be great to get good insight with regards to the install (what on the car needs to come off etc)..it would also help others that are looking at getting/installing these headers.

thanks

If you don't have a lift i think it will be hard to install them. Feasible but hard. So I would wait for the 10 days or find another shop.

The comment about the 10 day wait is misleading, my bad. I am waiting till my shop can take the car in for the install as i wouldnt trust any one else around(especially myself), but was asking if anyone can help out with tips on how to best do the install to make sure the guys at my shop can do it easily as possible.

thanks

I did mine by myself without a lift in my garage in about two evenings after work (6-8 hours maybe), but do have a large array of tall jacks and jack stands. The car has to be quite a bit off the ground which obviously isn't a problem on a lift. Didn't have to disconnect the motor mounts or remove any heat shields except for the steering shaft and the shield around that which was easily replaced once the headers were in. Needed quite a few different tools from different lengths socket/extension combinations and wrenches/ratcheting wrenches.

Also needed to remove the brace in the middle of the car, easily done and I don't know if there's a way to replace it or if there's some other solution for it. I've tried contacting MBH about it but can't get an answer.

Overall it wasn't a bad header installation, I thought it would be worse but it's about the same as I've delt with in other modern cars - though I will say every modern car I work on lately makes me appreciate how user friendly my Trans Am WS6 is lol

Installed my MHP Longtubes on my back with basic hand tools, ramps, jack stands, and a jack. Obviously you need to have some common mechanical knowledge and patients.

Small hands helps.

Ratchet wrenches, extensions, etc. all needed, 11mm I believe?

Removing the stock manifolds is the hardest part. Installing the headers is easier since you have more room around the bolts.

Ive done it three time now, its a pain in the *** evertime.

Amen!
I wish I didn’t have these huge hands, since getting to those 5 nuts which are 11mm from the top, is a MAJOR P.I.T.A. in my W211.
I’m doing my install at the moment and taking my time with a tall jack and 4 jack stands.
