Do you have to cut the strut tower?

No you don't need to touch the strut tower. The K-Mac camber and caster kit contains new bushings. You replace (press out/in) the existing bushings in the control arms with the K-Mac bushings. The new bushings have an eccentric bushing that turns inside the bushing outer sleeve.

trust me unless you are billy bad *** on the track, your not going to need more camber or caster. If you are hardcore like - jrcart or something with plenty of time to have a dedicated track car go for it. you can get -2* of camber in the front with the factory adjustment.

after doing some more research, I am going to go with the michelins. out of the ones I was most interested in (michelins, dunlops and nittos) the pilot sport cups have the best wet traction rating which would be key of I'm caught and need to drive home. I've been pretty happy in the past with michelins. I guess I'll report back in the spring. thanks for the input.

Across all makes and models, K-Mac camber and caster kits are designed to work without cutting or welding original components.
K-Mac's many years (coming up for fifty years!) in the aftermarket suspension industry is of significance in this regard, only in extreme cases (generally with cars already modified) does fitment of a K-Mac kit require such alterations.

Racing - its all about lowering lap times!
K-MAC adjustable bushings allow just that. Being able to go from stock 2 to 4 degrees negative Camber.
Along with also being able to now adjust in more positive Caster for better turn in, reduced dive/lift on brake/acceleration and improved directional stability. Plus the unique K-MAC patented bush design eliminating air voids yet importantly allowing all positional 2 axis movement with twice the load bearing area.
The added bonus therefore is improved braking, traction and steering response.

As others have already stated and I'll repeat, stick to street tires if you've never been on track before. You'll learn the dynamics of the car at much more sane speeds. Once you can be fast on street tires, now how to handle bad situations, then you should graduate to R comp's.
