Can't put gas in my car...WTH??!!

My car was transported across states in an enclosed trailer. I tried every Shell, Cheveron, and Mobil gas station and I cannot put gas in the car. The car was fine a week ago. The tank just spits it out or it spills out from underneath...this is so strange and its getting very annoying because I have to dribble it in a cent at a time for it to work. Any ideas and fixes?? Thanks guys...

how many miles on the car? this is most likely the problem go ahead and get a new shutoff valve while your at it. It may require an adapter harness for the updated part. Its located on the behind the fender liner of the right rear wheel.

sounds like a problem with the venting system. curious as the why it happened after you had your car transported.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have no idea why it's doing this. 13,000 miles on car and is babied. They don't have to drop the gas tank do they? Is it something only the dealership can fix?

Yes it seems so.....the gas just spits out or over fills and spills out bottom...

I've never had this experience before, so I'm sure my input here is pretty much worthless, but I would imagine that an indie shop could fix it without dropping the tank.

Yeah the car has original warranty and extended. I am just wondering if it's an easy fix at home...like burping or farting the gas tank somehow...

I had the same problem with my 911 Turbo. There is a flapper valve in the filler that stays closed in case of a roll-over. Prevents gas from spilling out. The valve on my Porsche would not open and I could not fuel it.
Turned out to be a blown fuse. You may check that. Not sure if MB has the same set up, but I suspect that it does.

Could have been something the transport company disabled! I know they are very worried about the amount of gas in the cars when they transport them so who knows if they needed to disable something

my wife bananas! :D
could it be possible your car is on a diet?

remember, our plan is to be the two last c63 owners on this planet... the stories we'll tell while sitting in our rocking chairs...

on a semi related note... why were you transporting it? moving?

Hahaha....Fung it's crazy. It's acting like a baby that spits out the spoonfull you just fed it...You should of saw me, I was filling like $0.52 at one station, yelling at the attendant telling him the nozzle is faulty, then going across the street to put in another $1.52, then drove diagonally to another gas station to fill another $0.93...I had gas pouring down the underneath of the car like Niagara Falls....I mean I love this car to death, and as much as I love driving her spirited, I treat it like a baby. Gonna keep her until the end. It's not a garage queen but it's not a street ***** either LOL...kinda in between.

I checked with the Transport Co and they transported it as clean as a whistle. Not even moved once throughout the transport.

So I thought maybe its just pressure build up from sloshing around. So I will let her rest and I will drive off most of the remaining gas and see what happens.

Transported it due to work.

We will indeed be on those rocking chairs.....AS SOON AS IT KEEPS ITS FUEL DOWN!!

Same here. The trick that seems to work for me was instead of having the pump rest at 6 o'clock, i'd angle it to about 8 o'clock.
Strangest thing, it only happens on certain pumps.

^^ I didn't know MB/AMG hires 15 year old kids... or young girl having her period... what a joke you are bragging about your affalterbach trip. Muhahaha!

Zeph, are you moving to Dubai by any chance? Seriously, good luck with the repair... let the warranty take care of it.

This guy is just a little butt hurt still when I called him out on being an unprofessional tech. for treating customers like crap. I had no idea he was still trolling the forums waiting for this moment to get back at me...Ahhh the life of some people...

Anyway Ros and Jon I already spoke to MB tech and said it was a Charcoal Canister as mentioned above. That can get clogged and air won't be able to escape. It needs to be replaced...

Dealer will fix under warranty. Thanks for all the member input guys...
