Want your opinions fellas....which lug bolts for new wheels?

So I am getting these awesome forgestars from Ken:

https://mbworld.org/forums/wheels-ti...ll-models.html

I know I need 14X1.5 27mm long cone seat lug bolts. I would like some kind of locking mechanism, but I could always get that separately. I'm primarily wondering what you guys think about color combos.

My car is iridium silver with carbon accents and window tint. It will have a carbon spoiler and diffuser soon. The modular concept wheels I have are great and get tons of looks but I wanna change the look. I might or might now sell them so hit me up if you're interested! CARBON WRAPPED WHEELS

So, onto the choices...

OPTION 1:These cool locking lugs in a Ti Grey color:

http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm...w=&range_high=

My concern is maybe the interaction between the SS and aluminum leading to corrosion? That and the price, although I found them cheaper for about $275.

OPTION 2: These cool chameleon type lugs:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/40601N-Mevius-Lug-Bolts-NeoChrome-Finish-M14-x-1-5-27mm-length-Cone-Seat-/261296284120?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cd678e1d8&vxp=mtr
I'd have to get a locking lug set as well

OPTION 3: Gunmetal lug bolts:

http://www.fastwheelaccessories.com/...edes-m14x1-50/

OPTION 4: Just plain black lugs:

http://shop.klutchrepublik.com/produ...14-x-1-5-black

OPTION 5: Blue neon

http://www.vexmotorsports.com/Mevius...-_p_13565.html

OPTION 6:Locking KICKS lugs (Different than the dual phase ones above and about $250 - only in black or chrome:

https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...amg-black.html

What do you guys think?

I say gunmetal or black. Don't rice it up with the odd colored ones. I'll let others chime in on what locks to buy and whatnot.

Black lugs on those wheels will look great. Thanks for posting up a bunch of lug options. I need some myself.

Great post man, I've been trying to figure out a better lug option for my gunmetal Forgestars. I have a set of chrome lugs currently but not super happy with the look against the gunmetal wheels... not sure if black lugs will make it look any better though.

If you don't mind me asking where did you find these ones for $275?

Yeah, it took some research to find all these, haha..figured it would be good to share since a search always results in conflicting info and stuff...

Vise, the $275 price is from:

http://www.mosaicmotorsports.com/pro...0-p-91461.html

I was worried about the multi-colored lugs bolts being a bit too ricey or gaudy. Keep the opinions coming though! I need to decide which black or grey ones to go with Would black be too much black? I thought the grey would break things up!

As for the my wheels, you guys are asking about info on my Modular Concept wheels? They are three piece forged wheels with a real carbon wrapped center section, gloss black lips and black fasteners PM if you're interested in how much I'd let them go for. I got them directly from Mod. Concepts - They are carbon concept CC04s. Awesome wheels...have a chip here and there but look great still.

Just go to Audi and get some Gunmetal plastic lug caps....$1/piece.

Because you will probably feel like a tool after you spend over $275 for lugnuts

Thanks guys...yeah, it's a lot of money, so I might just some of the gunmetal bolts and then buy one locking lug for each wheel...save some money...either way, I'll post pics when I've got everything on

By the way...I'm looking for different centercap options...anyone know what else is out there for forgestars aside from the four they have on their website???

For your Forgestars I'd say go with black lugs or locks. Will complete the all black look.

Thanks for the link on those Kics locks too... they are a bit pricey but supposed to be among the best locks out there. Probably a bit of overkill on Forgestars but if I had HREs or something expensive I would get these no question.

I might actually grab a set of the Gunmetal lugs (plus wheel locks) from your Option 3 above, just trying to figure out shipping to Canada.

that's what I did, had a set laying around from my old Audi
they take a tool to remove so it might slow down a wheel stealing moron

Slow them down by maybe 2 seconds at best. Even wheel locks aren't a defence in every case but at least they will weed out the majority of potential thieves.

2 seconds? at best> so 1 sec? lol

takes me at least 5 seconds to get 1 off
and on these wheels it's much tighter than the Audi
the tool barely fits, takes a few tries and as long as 30 sec each
that's if you have the tool, too tight to get anything else in their
so if they don't have the tool they will be slowed down more than 2 seconds, and even with it more than 2 seconds

Apologies, didn't mean literally 2 seconds... just saying a plastic wheel cap is a mild visual deterrent at best. Worst case it adds 2 minutes or so per side which is not enough to save a nice set of wheels from being jacked by any halfway decent crew.

Depends on where you live of course but with any remotely nice car wheel locks are a basic requirement for me... the BMW/Mercedes dealers in Toronto actually equip every new car with a set of OEM wheel locks and have for years.

I think I'm gonna go with black or gunmetal...I think one locking lug a wheel is good enough...I have black caps over my OEM lug bolts right now, and it's just annoying having to pop em off at the tire shop
