Id like to thank Xclusv Autosports for doing an awesome install on my V1 unit. Unit is completely hidden (And still works AWESOME). I chose to have the knob next to the shifter as it is easy to access while driving without reaching under the dash etc..
Thanks for the info. I found that on axis signals were fine when mounted in the center headrest, but off axis (around corners and over hills) the signal was attenuated by all the metal in front of the V1 (pillars, hood and roofline). Rear detection was probably better for the opposite reasons. That's why I elected to mount mine high in the front windshield. No one, sometimes not even passengers, notices it. And I always drive with the AMG display up, so the audio display constraint is a negative for me. This is how I have mine
Even if you get a warning, it will be too late...the laser would have already gotten back to the LIDAR gun the popo is holding in his non-donut hand Just sayin....
I don't get why people bother with this crap. It's useless against LIDAR, which is the predominant speed enforcement tool utilized currently
Nevertheless, congrats and nice install!
False. Although very rare, you can pick up scatter from LIDAR. In 10 years of using a RD every day, I have had ONE scatter save. And the proliferation of LIDAR is dependent upon what area you live in. SoCal uses a lot of LIDAR. VA Beach, however, uses a lot of instant on radar. In fact, in one instance, a motorcycle cop was shooting LIDAR but had left his Ka-band radar on. Needless to say, I slowed down well before I got to his trap. Additionally, many states are reverting back to radar due to the high cost of having to calibrate LIDAR guns. States like PA even have low powered K-band guns that considered by many (myself included) to be more dangerous than LIDAR due to the nature of them being difficult to detect and impossible to jam. At least with LIDAR I have a fighting chance of being able to jam, slow down, shut my jammer off and allow the LEO to read my now legal speed. And as stated above, RD plus a Laser Interceptor is the only way to go. But nothing will save you from VASCAR...
