If anyone's curious, these are what my original headbolts looked like when replaced in my 2009 C63 with 114,000km on it. Two on the right have been degreased. They were in decent condition and I had plenty of time to have them replaced, but I'm glad it's done with now and I don't need to worry about it. You can definitely see the corrosion starting, though

I paid $2000 CAD for the parts and labour in the Toronto area. I also had the spark plugs and oil changed at the same time which added a bit to the cost, if I remember correctly the spark plugs were about 200 CAD themselves. Very glad to have it done and out of the way, though. The head bolt work is not something I'd be comfortable trying to do myself
I guess I didn't understand that ALL cars older than 2010 are affected. I've been unable to locate a definitive answer online. I asked my dealership about the issue and they are being suspiciously tight-lipped. I was under the impression that some cars produced before 2010 have the issue.

I may be misunderstanding your response. To be clear, all cars with M156 engine where the last five digits of the engine serial number are below 060658 are affected. As such, yours is affected.
Strange I purchased my car as a 2010 but the last 2 times I’ve picked up parts at Mercedes they have it listed as a 2011 based on my vin ... about to do the head bolts but I guess I should check to make sure I need them
