text on backup camera screen

My backup camera says "Please check entire surrounndings" in text that's just big enough to block the view of my entire surroundings. What were they thinking?

Has anyone found a way to get rid of the text?

Pretty sure they mean don't just look at the camera but also the sides of your car. So basically check everything else that isn't in the screens view

I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks this. It really does block a big portion of the screen.

Mine is a '12. I don't know whether there are any differences between model years, but I sure would like to find a way to get rid of it. It's a crappy camera to begin with and then they block the top third of the screen with text so you can't see anything more than about ten feet behind the car. I expect more from my Germans!

Haha how fast are you going in reverse?

Should be slow enough to be able to react to anything that does show up.

I think it isn't an issue, then again I don't have a back up camera and text to annoy me. It's like the whole "Don't look at this screen while you drive" message that pops up. So if something did happen they will say "told you so."

Duh. But do they need to remind you every time you put the car in reverse, and do they need to CONTINUE to remind you the whole time you're backing up?

Alright, I suppose I could get on board with it being a 3-5 second message. I simply turn around, works every time

Coming from an Audi and Lexus that have excellent Rearview cameras, I was surprised how bad the C63 one is. Mine seems like it's looking at an angle, too. Fortunately the visibility of the car is pretty good so the camera isn't needed much. I like to go forward anyway.

I'd like to add in the reverse lines -- anyone know if it is an option in the engineering menu for '12-'13 cars?
