Yo-
So after just 3 1/2 months in the car, need new tires. I have run wider tires on my 2 previous C63's and now looking to go up again. I have done the research and heard all the "speculation", but I want is some real world advice from some of you who have ACTUALLY run wider tires.
Trying not to stretch(I obviously want to protect the wheels). I'm going with Mich PSS again, but used to running 18's. I know the 507 has a slightly different ride height. Looking at:
265/40
275/35
275/40
Anyone run these on a 19? Was there fender rub or inner suspension/wheel well rub? Again, I have seen and read a lot of speculation, but just looking for some help from you guys that have been there.

Hi,
When I was ordering my Winter tires from Tirerack, the rep told me that 265/30s would be safe. However, I'm curious if the 275s would cause a rubbing situation.
Tal - do you have any customers running the 275s without issue? Would LOOOOOVE to get 275s in the rear! :-D

I think you should be able to get away with 245/35/19 F and 275/30/19 R
This is of course maintaining a stock setup (no spacers, no springs for lowering)
I am around 1900 miles on mine - tires are still good. Traction is definitely an issue even with an LSD...
I was looking at the PSS also for when I need too change.

Hey newbies:
Step aside. This ain't my first rodeo. Please read original post. I don't care what any tire shop told you. As this is my 3rd C63, I know all about traction issues and the in's and outs of the limitations and frustrations with our cars and the tires.
I'm looking for people RUNNING or HAVE run 275's on a 19" wheel. Thanks.

I run PSS 275/30 on my 10x19 rear and I find them meaty!
So running them on 9x19 OEM, stock suspension will definitely fit and not be stretched. As well I'm curious to know how many miles you put on your actual tires? 3.5 months for new tires that is quick! You do a lot of spirited driving?
I have probably put 5k mls on them since last April and I still have 50+% life left. I drive the car daily but I don't push it on every corner or at traffic lights

No, no. no. I ran over something on the highway and it not only punctured the tire, but ripped a chunk of rubber away exposing the cords. Yeah, that would be a lot of spirited driving to say the least!! The soonest I have ever needed tires from actually driving was about 4 1/2 to 5 months, which is a more reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately for me the tires are 3 1/2 months old with only 1500 miles on them.
Man, the price jump in tires from an 18" to a 19" is crazy!!

Well there lil buckaroo...us newbs would likely suggest a driving class, as a good measure while you pilot your trusty steed into the sunset...seems you thrashed your rims after taking delivery and now this unfortunate episode - both wheel tire related. Maybe some wheel/tire insurance should be on the chuckwagon menu?
Not a sermon, just a thought!!!
Happy Trails - and giddy up...as I now step aside...

Actually, Been to basic and advanced course at AMG Driving Academy, so your suggestion is WAY off base. As is your assessment of my wheels is also incorrect.
I was pushed into the concrete dividing barriers between the opposite sides of traffic by an 18 wheeler. I certainly did NOT thrash the wheels on my account. The truck pushed me to ride the barrier, therefore "thrashing" my wheels.
Anyway, I love it when people here assume facts that are completely inaccurate and way off base. The same issue I have here now, is the same I was trying to get across in the post.
Many people like to post comments without reading and understanding the original post. The few people that chimed in, kept saying things like, "i think" or posting a completely off-base different tire size. Was not trying to offend anyone, it's just I'm a direct guy who wanted DIRECT answers to the ACTUAL post and it's content. I even spelled it our very clearly that I wanted people who are ACTUALLY running those sizes on a 19" rim.
No problem though. Someone who actually understood has helped me out greatly.
And don't you ever suggest that I need to go to driving school.................

Well, hopefully this thread doesn't turn into that other crazy thread with the Toronto MMA guy trying to make his mark on the internet! LOL I believe cooler heads will prevail. Hence, no reply from me.
Happy Tire Mounting, breaking in and exploring the limits of the wider rears.
Jordan - let us know how things work out.
Off topic - anyone know what the F1 Doctor Car (C63 Wagon) uses on the rears? For your viewing and hearing pleasure (practice session at Monza):

I am running a 275/30-19 Michelin PSS on the rear on a custom offset 9.5" wide rim with no rubbing. Car is Canadian-spec 2013 APX coupe so 0.75" lower from the factory than US cars (it's essentially the P30 suspension - I believe the same as a 507).
Putting on a 275 on the OEM 9" wheel is less than ideal from a performance perspective as the tire is too wide for the rim.
The F1 Medical car runs the stock 235 F & 255 R Continentals.

275/30/19 PSS recommended rim width is 9 to 10"
the width use for tire dimension measurments is 9.5
what is the ground to fender lip measurement on a APX or 507?
can these springs be used to lower the car 0.75" / 20 mm, basically the same as the H&R?
my stock with 18" wheels
F 26"
R 25.8"

Make that 10mm lower, not 0.75" as previously stated.
Will gladly measure fender height once I take the snows off in April or May.
