Memory Seat Function
Hello,
On both my C63 and ML63, I must hold the memory button until everything moves into the saved positions. Is this very annoying process the same on all MBs? Anyone know what MB was thinking when they came up with this?
Thanks,
Joe

I'm the only one driving my C63, but everytime I get out of the car I bring the seat backwards (memory #3) so I don't wear the side bolster pre maturely.
Another annoying thing I wanted to mention is the amount of time/work required to remove the interior door trim (something thieves would not steal) vs how easy it is to remove the side mirrors covers (I have CF covers, so I don't want thieves to steal them). So yeah, MB way of doing things is somewhat weird. Lol

I think what the Ingenieur is trying to say is that we are willing to go down on our girl and lick and eat her butthole but we are not willing to let them drive our cars....
Got it.

waaaaa....I have to hold the seat memory button in my luxury performance car
there are so many self entitled, self indulgent, whiny lil' spoilt brats on here it is hard to comprehend...I thought it was stereotype that elitist snobs owned MB's, but I'm seeing that there is more than a grain of truth to it I bought it for the history of AMG, the engineering excellence...
If you guys don't like the car, why buy it? If designed by morons, why do you want one? For every positive thread there are 5 negative ones, if not more.
I'm negative? I'm not crying about something so inconsequential as holding a damn button on a power seat: it's a safety issue...suppose while driving you bump the button accidently, and it goes from a 4'10" setting to a 6'4" one? not good
jeez, what if we had real problems? feeding our kids, or keeping them alive like in Syria or Africa?
I don't care if you get pissed because I say things that upset your perfect little world, I'm the 'bad' man and you are the clueless...
the one eyed man trying to lead the blind, lol
bunch of misogynist misanthropes
women are generally better humans than men, you guys sound like you have issues with women, and anybody that points it out is 'gay' or something...

It is a safety precaution, keeps kids from getting pinched or hurt. I asked the dealer about it myself (out of curiosity) and that's what they told me.
Easy solution is to not let anyone drive your car

As one of the few intelligent responses from my OP, thanks for your input. I can see it being a safety issue, but I've owned several cars with memory seats, and none have required holding the button.
No, it's not a big issue in the grand scheme of life. It was just a question based on my previous experience with all of my past cars not having the "feature".
Funny thing that few non-German cars allow one-touch window up on all four windows. Clearly a safety issue as well if you have kids in the back, but doesn't seem to be of concern to those companies that have this setup. I personally prefer on-touch up-and-down on all four.
Thanks again.

I agree with u Valvestud, my wife just bought a Venza & yes the memory seat button only needs 1 touch to move the seats. And when the car is in motion, the memory seat buttons are not working for safety reasons. So yes it's a nice feature.
U've been the most helpful member on this forum about the headbolts failure (engine numbers), so don't mind ppl who calls u lazy. Lol
