OE TUNING STILL IN BUSINESS??

Heard it from a few people on a few occasions and people have even posted it here in other OE related threads. This goes back some time now, maybe a year ago that I was hearing it. It probably would not take to much time to do a forum search to find that thread(s).

I honestly believe that we should let the OP try and sort out his issues with OE Tuning. OE has commented on this thread so we now know they are aware of the issues. Let's not hijack the thread or assume the outcome.
I know this is an open forum and people are free to their opinion and I am for people sharing their experiences whether they are positive or negative, and I think TUF-C63 should let us know the outcome, but I would prefer to read facts.
Just my 2c.

I have a tune from eurocharged(got it with the car)
I went to speedriven when i first bought the car to get a tune. Marcin took the ecu out and read it out. Told me its a eurocharged. I asked him if I can buy his tune, he told me for the most part the tunes are the same, unless we would go on the dyno. So +1 to speedriven to not hiding it from me and just charging me for their tune. +1 to eurocharge for having a good tune. Its funny i have met a few e55 guys that go to speedriven with all different setups. one has oe and the other one has eurocharged like me. Those two guys are almost dead even( both have headers, pulley's and tb). So I guess it really just comes down to customer service and price imo.

I have met Jeremy a few times and he tuned my C63. Never an issue with the car. Great tune and great guy. Never an issue getting in touch with him either.
He also got me the controversial "Tune Only" record which was taken from MHP and has yet to be touched for almost 3 years now by any other tuner.

If you want to tune your car and not worry at all, get an extra ecu like I did. Have your tuned ecu and stock ecu. Cheap insurance. It costs $300 to have the ecu programmed to the car.
Damn, you should have asked on here, a few of us have spare ecus laying around... I have 2 or 3 extras lol.

Yup, if the car is going in for regular service. If by chance you happen to blow your motor and throw in the other ECU they will suspect foul play as the logs wont show the failure and the warranty claim will be denied.
When it comes to regular services they don't care anyhow since nothing is broken so its really pointless other than the dealer not flashing over your tune when you go in for an oil change. The flash tuners are cheaper to just reprogram if they do. The biggest benifit I have seen using two ECU's is switching between race fuel only tunes at the track and regular fuel. That comes in quite handy.

I am looking into getting a tune and have been receiving communication from OE.
I like the fact that for $695 OE provides you the flash tool but reading these "stories" makes me second guess.
Perhaps I don't understand the tuning/flash incorrectly but I am assuming that once the flash is uploaded and it doesn't show any problems it would remain problem free?
is it possible that the tunes works for some time and months later develops a problem?

^^OE Tuning has been around and lots of folks have their tune with no issues. It's been tested and hundreds of cars have their tune. With my experience, Every tuner will always have that one off issue with a customer and explode like this thread.

Thats hard to say. Anything you install can create a problem down the road. Exhausts, body kits, tunes etc. I had a C300 prior to my C63 and I had gotten an x-pipe done and cut out the resonator. At first no problem, no drone or anything. After about 6 months, I was getting a lot of drone after 70mph. As far as the tune goes, I have no problem with it. Every tune is essentially the same. Some tend to be a bit more aggressive but I'm sure each Tuner has had at least one problem with a bad tune. If i was you, I wouldn't let this discourage you from getting a tune!

As we mentioned before we do not know every customer we have assisted by their MBWorld screen name. We have asked for you to please contact the shop as this is the best method for us to communicate. Unfortunately, to date we have yet to receive any calls or emails to this effect.
