The W204 is officially DEAD....2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Enters Production

The first retail example of the all-new 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class rolled off the line today at the car’s plant in Bremen, Germany. The event marks the start of another chapter for Mercedes’ best-selling vehicle
But the plant in Bremen is just one of five to be responsible for production of the latest C-Class, with other locations set to include Mercedes’ plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in addition to plants in Brazil, China and South Africa.
Most versions of the 2015 C-Class destined for sale in the U.S. starting this fall will obviously come from the plant in Tuscaloosa. Two versions will be available at launch: the C300 4MATIC and C400 4MATIC. Further down the track we can expect fuel-efficient diesel and hybrid models as well as a high-performance AMG variant.
Mercedes is spending upwards of 2 billion euros ($2.7 billion) in revamping its plants for production of the new C-Class, with half of that going to the Bremen plant which controls global production of the car--from the tooling strategy to the training of staff. The automaker is thereby ensuring that the highest quality standards are met at all production sites right from the outset.
Key areas of focus have been the new materials used in the body and the quality of the cabin, which is a level above that found in rivals. The main challenges have been the body’s material mix, new manufacturing technologies and process monitoring facilities. The aluminum content of the body structure, for example, is 50 percent higher compared to its predecessor. This mix of aluminum and steel contributes to significantly improved protection against corrosion.
Pricing and availability for the 2015 C-Class will be announced closer to the sales launch this fall.

"Further details remain scarce, but AMG insiders suggest the M117 may support an output between 450 and 600 hp. Since the outgoing C63 AMG's naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 is already good for 451 hp, its replacement is expected to up the ante to somewhere in the region of 480 hp. Forced induction, present in the C-class based performance sedan for the very first time, should also help extend its torque reserves beyond the 443 lb-ft of its predecessor."
Other interesting highlights:
"The adoption of a new aluminum-intensive platform structure and an predominately aluminum body shell ensures the increase in size will not have a big effect on curb weight, with Mercedes-Benz claiming savings in the region of 110 pounds, compared to the steel-bodied third-generation model."
"The new C63 AMG eschews the air suspension that is being made available as an option on various new C-class models for the first time, receiving a heavily reworked version of its more conventional steel-sprung arrangement with unique track widths, firmer springs and dampers, altered elastokinematics and a lowered ride height."
"We got a preview of the look on standard versions of the C-class fitted with the optional AMG optic package. But the C63 AMG will go further, featuring a heavily structured front fascia with sizeable air ducts to provide more efficient engine bay cooling, AMG's latest blade grille treatment, reworked hood, heavily flared front fenders, wider sills and a deeper rear bumper that houses trapezoidal chromed tailpipes."
The Paris Motor Show reveal is in September.

No one is a W205 owner....every W204 owner wants the scoop on the next generation
Its pretty mind-blowing that you miss the correlation. If you are in the market for the W204, wouldn't you want to know that the next gen is already starting production? Wouldn't that help improve a deal you're trying to make?

Here is an article that could expand the w205 knowledge base. However, rather than post it as an informative w205 article the OP incorrectly interpreted the point to be the "official DEATH" of the w204 and flames the w204 forum. Somehow I'm the bad guy for pointing it out. I read the w204, w211,w212, and c117 forums regularly because I'm interested in those. Yes, I read the w205 forum.
Care so much about w205 news? Go read about it in the W205 forum.

This is relevant to both sections, and the reality is, is that the C63 forum has some of the more active members versus the other sub forums. So quit your *****ing, join in the conversation, or move on, you made your feeling known in one post within the thread, that is all that is required, the 2 additional requests to move to another sub forum is redundant.

I'm not flaming the W204 forum....I've been a part of it for 5 years......The Death of the W204 refers to it not being built anymore

I like to think that sometimes I provide info to my fellow W204 enthusiasts that they find relevant. You are failing to realize that. You also fail to realize that the W205 forum has no traffic, because there are no W205 owners.
The W204 is a very active forum that has posts not only about the cars, but also about other topics that W204 owners can debate/agree and talk about....let that sink in for a sec
PS: We all hope your yeast infection clears up ASAP
