The C63 Tire Thread (miles driven)
I am interested to see the real world outcome of the amount of miles you were able to get out of your set.
Please post the brand, model, quality (noisy, wear quality, etc.), size ran, equipment (wheels / suspension) and miles placed on them before they were replaced. I would also like to hear about your driving style.
I thought this could be useful to others as well.
I will start, I purchased my car with the following already installed:
Wheels / Suspension - OEM Factory AMG
Tire Brand / Model - Kumho Ecsta 4X / 420AAA / Ultra High Performance All Season
Tire Sizes - 235/40/18fr (75% tread remaining upon purchase) / 255/35/18rr (65% tread remaining upon purchase)
Miles driven since purchased - 1,000 miles
Tread wear - fr - not to bad, still around 70% / rr - done (need replaced asap)
Quality - Soft / Sidewalls feel decent in the twistys / Fairly quiet / Surprisingly smooth ride
Driving style - Normal style with moments of spirited driving. No intentional burnouts, but tires do spin from time to time.

Driving Style (1 to 5, 1 being your 55 in fast lane driver, 5 being race car driver): 5 have taken the tires to 3 track days and I drift around everything lol. However, i also have a lot of highway miles on the tires.
Larger tires raise the gear ratio. Once tuned it may change. i don't muc care for Goodyear super car tires with a little wear the noise and ride gets worse.Michelins get noisy too. Car does need wider rubber and a higher tread life rating. I got about 7,000 miles per set of rears. 22,000 for fronts, and longer if wife hadn't scrubbed a bank teller machine concrete with the fronts. I started to put the Michelins, on front, with a 300 tread wear rating. The DWs carry a much higher rating. I want to see, and hear about their real performance first. I would much rather spend money on other things than sets of tires every few miles. 97Ys should be fitted if making over 550 hp, even if you don't drive that way. imo

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
My next tyre will be Dunlop Direzza z11 in the same sizes above. Have read excellent reviews on this tyre.
edit note. I see you have 18s. I am running 245 40 18 / 265 35 18 and the size works very well.

As I left the house for my apmnt to have them installed, the snow began to fly. By the time my tires were installed and I headed down the road it had appeared their first test was about to be had. There was a good inch on the roads and the tires performed flawlessly!
Happy customer here so far.
