About to Buy a 2009 C63. Questions about Depreciation.
I've looked at several C63's and finally found one I think I'm ready to negotiate pricing with.
My credit union is approving me for 85% loan to value using NADA values. With this in mind, I started to see a pattern.... the 85% was easily covering the full asking price of the cars even certified from dealers in some cases.
For example, a 2009 with roughly 50k miles, NADA value is around $43k and the prices I see online are in the low 30's.
A 2009 has already taken it's major hit with depreciation but has it bottomed out? Would I be buying a 2009 at the right time?
Any input is appreciated.

No, not waiting until it bottoms out. Rather waiting for the major depreciation hit to have slowed. I know it'll never stop depreciating but want to see if the major hit has already occurred. I always try to think of worse case scenarios too so if I needed to dump the car (financial reasons, if it breaks down too much etc..), and I need to sell it, if I'd take a huge hit.

And this is why I'm looking at them now as I think this may be the right time to buy an '09. Hopefully they've taken the large hits in depreciation already so if a worse case scenario happens and have to sell it, I don't lose my a$$.

C63 ///AMG P30
First 3 years gets the worse depreciation hit then slows down. Then once the factory warranty runs out then there's a slight hit again. For a 2009, the fastest depreciation has already occurred

$20,000 depreciation in 1 year ..and to think yours was dealer CPO, a private party owner would have lost even more. Here's a couple of good data points.
NADA lists depreciation as part of the cost of ownership calculation. For a new C63, they forecast depreciation of:
year 1 - $11,571
year 2 - $5,544
year 3 - $4,851
year 4 - $4,588
year 5 - $4,496

That's 31k... So an 09 is ~39k according to that which seems accurate...

You guys realize this cars don't sell for sticker price when new. I remember when my x got her C63 In 2010 the dealers were giving away insane trunk money. $10k in some cases. None the less, she got hers for $60k with 2k miles and it had a sticker $74k.
