I did a quick search and there seems to be mixed answers.

The chrome door handle inserts shown below, are they bolted or just 3M?

I would like to remove them, if they are 3M should be easy.

Any insight/past experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having mine painted gloss black.

they are on with 3M.....use fishing line to cut into the tape from behind going up and down and slightly to the left or right (depending on where you start), you will have residually glue/tape on the body...use goo off (automotive one) to take the rest off.

I like them too....they aren't an option that comes with the car...they are an accessory that you can buy via MB

I live in the US and my car came with them from the factory.

On my sticker it lists under Optional Equipment:

- 070 Chrome Door Handle Inserts

odd...in Canada they are only accessories....

Yeah it's strange. The standard and optional equipment varies substantially by region. For example, I didn't get folding mirrors on my '13. I understand that Canadian C63s do?
