I would not run K&N filters in my lawn mower.
I think they are the worst filters on the planet. Over the years I have seen nothing but problems caused by the oil blowing off the filters and coating everything in the intake track. Then all the holes in the filters let dust through and it sticks to the oil all down the intake. Coast the MAF sensors and causes calibration errors.
Don't think there are holes in the filters?? Just hold it up the Sun and look at the thousands of holes in the filter much larger than the dust particles you are trying to filter out.

Anyone have troubles at dealers for warranty with a drop in filter such as Weistec or AFE?
Also what do you guys prefer? I can get AFE for about $50-60 cheaper shipped. But I dont want to cheap out on a bad quality product.

Is the weistec a finer membrane because it is dry?

The ONLY time a filter may give a few HP is at wide open throttle
The rest of the time the throttle plates diff press is much higher than the filters
If one filter has more dp drop than another that is negated by a few more degrees of opening
How often are you at sustained 100% throttle?
For a given power level the intake tract dp is the same although the proportions filter vs tb vs duct friction etc vary
The filter may give a bit more mpg due to lower pumping losses
May. But very little
Oem paper for me
Changed regularly

Agree here.
I want the extra flow at WOT Ya i know it will only be like 5-8hp lol. nothing really.
Also yes i agree K&N sucks. Dry filters are way better and thats all I would ever use.
