The cover page of the installation instructions to the kit talk about applicability as of W204 code 802. Consultation with Mr. Google did not reveal much, except it might mean as of model year 2012. If that were true that probably means as of Facelift......
Anyway - not to worry about. When you order, they will verify applicability and fit based on your VIN.

The limp mode seems to be initiated by tranny temp not engine oil
A few in this thread have said the same
It only happens on dct cars as far as I can tell, for the reasons stated above
They slip the dct by adjusting the pressure
But the clutches are cushioned by fluid, ie, wet clutch, so do not wear much it only heats the fluid up
Perhaps the package allows better flow thru the tranny cooler?
Or includes a better trans cooler or ducting?

Well, AMG did develop the upgrade and put a lot of effort into it. I assume the limp mode is addressed. Adding a larger transmission cooler to the same package would have been easy to do, but they did not. And it would have created very little additional labor, as the kit already requires to replace the transmission cooler oil lines.
I will know as soon as I get chance to get to a track after next weeks cooling package install. Not a lot of benefit speculating either way before then.

I attended the AMG Driving Academy at Laguna Seca yesterday. Interestingly all the C63s had the oil cooling upgrade package. It makes the air passage in front of the transmission cooler and radiator cleaner, since the front oil cooler lies complete flat. Had I not know it was there I would not have seen it.
From what I saw there it certainly did not appear that that package was rare or unusual at all. They had about 10 C63 507 coupes like that there.

Install successfully completed. I like the new setup much better than the stock one: Way more airflow access to the larger wheel arch cooler, but also a bigger front oil cooler AND (*I had not thought about that) more unimpeded airflow to the other coolers (transmission oil, air conditioning, coolant).
Overall labor is as expected - it took 10 hours for my car, with at least 2 hrs needed to improvise on things specific to my Black Series Body conversion (the new wheel liner did not fit, we used the larger new air louvers from the wheel liner in the upgrade package and inserted that into my existing wheel liner - works fine).
I will work on getting some pictures uploaded tonight.
Summary: This is really not worth all the big debates I saw online - at least in the US it is straight forward, even if a dealership is not aware. All you really need to do it is specify you want the code 44O cooling upgrade and they can get the parts from AMG and install them for you with your VIN. Or you can buy just the parts at an online source as defined above in this thread.
Installation cost: I did it through the dealership and paid 1,600$ (10 hrs, plus Service A (oil change, was due by coincidence at the same time) and a few small parts like clips).
If your C63 is stock and you do not need an oil change, you will need 8 hrs and can get it done for around 1,000 - 1,200$

Glad to hear it all went well. Definitely sounds worth it. Sometimes in traffic my oil temp climbs to 260+, would like to avoid that.
Is there a fan delete ? The cooling fan in the engine bay is extremely loud would be great to have it gone, there was some debate if it was retained with the cooling upgrade.

Yes, the fan is removed. it was actually a phenomenal bottleneck and blocked more that half of the wheel arch cooler surface, thus limiting airflow. The fan only helped when the car was standing or moving slowly - at any normal speed it was counterproductive. The new setup has a much larger duct providing unimpeded flow through the (larger) cooler. No noise, no electricity need.

Here a few pictures of the new setup. Don't be confused by the BS bumper. Underneath it is a 2014 C63 507. The air duct in front of the wheel arch cooler is the corresponding BS part. Bolted right in.

a couple more. Note that normally you cannot see the internals that well. I took a picture with the sun (low) shining into it, so it can be seen better.
I have driven the car maybe 50 miles like this and seen water temperatures of 192 - 197, oil temperatures of 212 - 225 degrees. The real proof will be on the track and that will only happen in spring.

The 44O package is available for cars starting with code 802 and up (which means model year 2012 I believe). Try to order the parts with your VIN and you'll know right away. Good luck!

Removing the fan might be feasible for you guys at colder countries.
In Singapore where i'm at where there's traffic jams everyday, I am really unsure if this mod is gonna increase or decrease the oil temps.
I went to sepang F1 track in malaysia and could only manage 1-1.5laps before oil temp hits 140 deg Celsius.(which is about 280+ Farenheit?)
it's dissappointing.
what's worse is the cost of installing this.comes to roughly about $7000 SGD.(USD5598)

Those cars are not really getting cooling from driving at speed but are constantly spinning out (or get caught/corrected). They all have the cooling upgrade and are fine.....
My guess is the upgrade is probably better even in traffic, but I have not tested that. On a track I am certain it will be more robust than stock. Definitely.

Wow, this is surprising to hear. With the flowing nature of the circuit, it is strange you got only 1.5 laps before hitting 284 F! That's insane...Especially since the Medical Car goes around the track without issue. But then again, the Medical Car has this cooling package or something even more intense.
Question: where on the track did the temp hit 140C?
