Is it gonna have that stupid friggin thing the M5 has where it plays simulated motor noise over your stereo so that you at least think it sounds tuff?
I could never buy an M5 cos thats just an embarrassment. Seriously. I could never let anyone ride in my car. I hope they put it in the M3/4's so I can pull beside them at stop lights and let er rip.

There is a microphone in the engine bay that amplifies the actual engine/induction noise in real time.

I am pretty open minded about the whole BMW vs AMG thing but htis to me does not sound spercial in the slightest. Its doesnt even start to sing in the 4-5000 rpm level either. Just ordinary, no other word for it.

So they still need a microphone and speakers to be able to brag about it to their buddies? At least, with Mercedes you can't hear the engine because they want to maintain the isolated feeling of a luxury car.

The Subaru WRX STi wanted more noise inside too, but at least they did it by way of a tube that channelled it in. They left a little channel uninsulated so that sound would get through.
I flipped my lid when I heard that about the M. THey always say its about noise laws in the EU but there are a ton of manufacturers in the EU that don't need to do that. Why doesnt it just come with a tshirt that has pec pads too? You know. Just so you can feel a little more pumped up.
I lost so much respect for any company that could pass that through the decision making process and make that a reality.

So true. The noise laws about what you can hear outside not inside. You can hear AMG's just fine outside.
