Intake Manifold - Gasket replacement
Does anyone have instructions for removing the intake manifold to replace the gaskets? Can it be a DIY? Are there any other things that can be done once it is removed?

Yeah it is DYI-able but you need to know what you are doing, know the torque value for the bolts etc...
You will probably need 10 new bolts as well.
Since your intake is removed just throw a supercharger kit back onto your engine

Not really DIY's but useful nonetheless:

I've had new bolts for three months now, will get to the job soon I hope.

I had the CEL come on when traveling from ATL to CHS over the weekend for the typical 2187/0171 codes (the light has since disappeared without having to delete the codes). I am going to start with the cheapest options first. Clean MAF/Check Bolts/leak test/PCV Replacement/Gasket Replacement and see if I can nip it in the bud.

Being that I'm doing some distance driving this weekend and that I couldn't remember whether I checked the intake manifold bolts when I changed plugs in Dec I decided to do that tonight. I'm glad I did. Every bolt was slightly and evenly loose. I didn't use my 1/4" torque wrench in the absence of a post-TTY torque spec but used a ratchet with a 9" handle. Each bolt was tightened about 12º-15º by feel, but resistance builds very quickly and when you feel it, simply stop. Use a light touch. Based on this experience IMO a check at every air filter change makes sense and may forestall a major repair.
