it's called mileage warranty.

I would recommend going to store such as Discount Tires to take care of it, since these bigger stores have direct connection with michelin to handle warranties. That would save you lots of trouble.

So for Pilot SS it says 30K. What does that mean exactly? I am guessing that the mileage has to be under 30K on them...but for what to happen? Under what circumstances will the warranty apply if my PSS's have under 30K?

Yes our cars got 15,000 miles only.
Say your tires get worn out at 10,000 miles, they would give you prorated credit according to the 10k/15k percentage and count towards your replacement purchase.

So you don't have to register your tires or anything? Jus go to the dealer you bought it from? I bought it from lex Brodie's.

Also wondering if your new set has to be the same size? Cuz I bought some rims and will need a new size tire.

Iirc it works like this
They give a prorated discount based on what you paid against MSRP
Example
MSRP 1600
You paid 1200
Warranty is say 15k miles
Worn out at 10k
Credit = (15 -10) / 15 x 1200 = 400
They will sell replacements for
1600 - 400 = 1200
Trust me, they are making money on both ends
