Question:Weird thing on driving mode switch
today i drove my 2012 c63 as usual, i picked up my friend and wanted to change the driving mode to enjoy ...you know ....and i SUDDENLY found that there is no led dot light on the switch button. The car is JUST in C mode and i can not activate any other S, S+ or M mode.. i was CRAZY at that moment...there is no error, CEL or ANY message reported. the car is operated normally but JUST didnt go to any othe mode.
even i shut down the engine and re-started it in 1 min- it just didnt appear to recover. so i gave up and took my friend to dinner..when i came back 2 hours later, i already prepared to go to dealer for check and found it was just back to normal andworks perfectly.. i change to S, S+ and M without any problem.. that's so weird, any buddy had same expereince?
I am really doubting what make this happen. some electronic issue? (i didnt do any modification except intake change to Gruppem- it cant be related). or i cleaned the interior 1 day before with half wet cloth? i swear it is finally done with dry cloth repeatly.
i havent taken the car to the dealer and not sure if i need to go for a check...maybe computer programming?
the car just ran about 5000miles and everything is good except this weird expereince...
let me know your ideas thx

hi thx for sharing. did you go to dealer for a check? or did it recover after a couple of hours?

Known issue / glitch on the MCT. It's one of the reasons why the owner's manual says you should not change the transmission modes while driving (despite the fact that it works fine 99% of the time). Shutting the engine off for a minute is not long enough to reinitialize the ECU. Need to exit car and lock it, wait for ODO display to disappear, THEN wait a few minutes and start it back up.
