Valve Train and Valve Cover Questions
Hello all,
Well, once again I have a few questions. Since the valve covers are made of plastic, how do they hold up in the long term and are there aftermarket Titanium covers available? Also, what material are the intake/exhaust valves made of. Are the exhaust valves sodium filled for better heat resistance? I have been looking for info on this but have had no luck. Sorry for the questions but this is my first MB (2013 C63/P31, etc.). I have read a few horror stories of engine issues and porous heads but never about burnt valves and such. My take is that from 2012 on most of these issues were taken care of at the factory. Am I correct? Thanks everyone for your shared knowledge of these things.
