Mileage
After a couple of months of driving my C63 507 I decided to check out the average mileage. Over the past 2267 miles I appear to have averaged 20.6 mpg which surprised me in a good way. The average speed was 47, so it definitely wasn't all city and definitely wasn't slow..

For me: 7 months at 8975; 24 mph; 13.8 mpg; mostly city driving (NYC traffic) with a few weekend jaunts on the highway. I clean things out on the weekend!

Wow, that is impressive. I have only seen 21.9 MPG in the car. That was going 62 MPH in 7th gear on a very flat, straight, concrete Interstate. How do you get 20.6 mpg Average?

We had to pay sin tax for gas guzzlers. At cruise, on any day, 70 mph or a bit faster and up and down a bit on the pedal and up and down hills I've seen 23 mpg and better. I get just about as good mileage as our Edge. It will never see 30 mpg and it has a heck of a lot less power. Vigorus driving well that's something else.

You must be doing lots of highway miles in C mode to average 20.6 mpg.
Couple months and 2000+ miles is the confirmation.
Last time i did 1000+ miles a month was when i was commuting to work 140 hwy miles daily.

I have never even looked at that part of the cluster....why get an AMG if you're gonna be worried about that. That being said, I do go out of my way to actively avoid it at times. lol

Those 2000+ miles consisted of a trip from DC to Chicago, DC to South Carolina Motorsports Park and a couple of hours of track time. The rest of it was DC traffic and normal driving.
On the highway with cruise on at 70-75 I usually get around 23 mpg... Driving across the midwest is pretty flat and consistent...

one thing I noticed is traffic will drop range over 50% if you're in stop and go versus flowing traffic. On my last 2 gallons it will say either 25 miles left in stop and go or 75 miles left in highway speed.

Ill add one more thing.. Those trips were done over the winter months, so I had the AC turned off and my all season tires.. I am going to take it out to Chicago and back next month with the stock tires and obviously running the AC... Ill reset everything and see what I get...

"Around town" I get 13-15mpg.
I drove from LA to Las Vegas and back and got 23mpg. Average speed 70mph and most of that was on cruise control.
I swear I got better gas mileage the faster I went. I suspect these engines run most efficiently at speeds of 100+. At least that's what I tell myself.

I fill up about 3 times a month for the C63, so about $190 on gas for the M156, not including my other cars. I definitely do not DD the car, it would just be frustrating having no use for all that power while idling in bumper to bumper traffic every day. I seriously hit bumper to bumper traffic the moment I pull out of my driveway, all the way until the work place. I should just sell my DD Lexus for a prius

I put on 122 miles each workday plus weekend driving filling up Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings. My gas bill usually runs around $600-800 per month, depending on my travel schedule, on 93 octane. Would love something with similar performance, four door and above 30 mpg. But, I only live once.
