I got an email 5 days ago saying a UPS label was created. Then no updates on shipping. Emailed Weistec and they finally shipped yesterday, so I assume it got lost in a pile of packages. Now it'll be here in NJ next Weds. Didn't want to pony up more $$$ for expedited shipping... You might wanna email 'em

Installion was a little tight but managed to install the catch can behind the passenger headlight in front of the brake controller. 1 hour later a guy from Iraq called and wanted to know if he could buy the oil the can will collect at 100 dollars a barrel, he wants to go into the oil business.

It does look like a very tight area to install it on.

Remove air boxes, Y pipe by lifting plastic clip off both sides of the air horn, as soon as you get the Y pipe off, cover the opening with Tape as is advised, this opening is large enough to lose a hamburger down, so working in tight area that opening just begs to have something dropped into it. T30 torx to remove PCV bolt, gently prying and pulling at same time will pop the PCV valve out, install the Weistec fittings loose first to get alignment correct then tighten the 1 inch fitting and reinstall. CC hangs off the supplied bracket behind the passenger headlight with fittings turned down and slightly back toward the firewall, fittings tight to the ABS brake system, hose runs parallel to the engine. On mine I could fasten the hoses to a clip on the ECU cable filler plastic part on the strut tower using plastic wire ties to support them. Once in looks like it is supposed to be there. Weistec has thought this out good, for oil removal just unclip from the metal frame after removing the transition tube for the intake on the passenger side, unscrew, dump, reinstall.
Again do not be over whelmed by this install, it is tight but doable. Remember to tape over the intake horn, because as luck would have it you will drop something during this install, Ha ha don't ask. Yes mine was covered and good it was.

Weistec, thanks, the separator came, very quick shipment! Two questions, do I need hose clamps for the 4 hose connections or are the barb fittings good enough. And do I use oil to lube the barb fittings to help the hoses slip on?

Thanks,
Glenn

Glenn,

The fittings do not need hose clamps. You can use oil or grease as lubricant to get the hose over the fitting a bit easier. Let us know how we can assist. Thank you!

Can anyone tell me the size and weight of the oil air separator and packaging that it comes in?

Unfortunately it's going to cost me nearly the same price again in shipping it to Australia so I'm investigating other options.

Thanks in advance...

Dude, that's INSANE. The whole kit I'm guessing weighs 4lbs. I've attached an image of the box which is like 14" x 5" x 10" or something. It's small and light.

I put my name on the gb list without checking posting to Western Australia. When it was time to buy I almost had a coronary at the shipping cost. I quickly pressed buy and proceeded to forget about it. So I don't fully recall how much the postage was but it wasn't the price of the item. I think it was about $200US or thereabouts. Feeling the coronary again just thinking about it.

I'd contact weistec and ask for a shipping quote. sometimes those online shipping calculators aren't configured properly.

I assume "oil" means engine oil? on the fittings as well as the O ring?

alright all, figured I'd do the install this AM and ran into a multitude of problems on my '14 coupe. First, couldn't figure out how to get the y splitter off as the engine bay is even more packed and had to finally unclip a wiring loom from the firewall, release the driver's side first, and only then would the passenger side release. Then I attempted to install the billet adapter pieces, but they would not fit flush onto the crankcase, nor onto the PCV valve. They were all well lubricated, but the fit did not feel correct and wasn't flush.

I emailed Weistec on this and know they're an awesome company, so I'm sure I'll hear back. The worst part was I ended up dropping one of the M6x16mm Allen bolts down into the engine bay, and couldn't for the life of me find out where, so there it still sits. So even if I could get the billet adapters to mount, I'm short a bolt. Long story short, I had to put everything back together as-is for now, and will wait on replacement parts and advice. Thank God I did tape over the intake as advised!

Anyone install this successfully on a '12 or later C63 coupe? Anyone else have issues or challenges with install? It was a real struggle and I felt like it shouldn't have been (and I'm pretty well mechanically inclined, but hadn't worked on the 156 before).

Thanks

Thanks very much for the weight and dimensions... very much appreciated - I'll get a quote from a drop-shipper I use.

I thought that too mate... and I wouldn't mind if it was only that but the cheapest option was $270USD.

Yep, I know how you feel... I can't imagine how it's so much and hope it's old pricing or something.
I might have overstated the shipping amount a little bit by saying it was almost the price of the item but I didn't expect anywhere near the quote of USD $270-290.

Thanks... I dropped them a note a few days ago querying the shipping price but haven't heard back yet unfortunately.
