FWIW, I'm still waiting on a response to the two queries I've sent over the past 2 weeks re: their shipping charges.
I know that's included the 4th July but still...

Called Weistec and got immediate courtesy. and a quick responding picture when I asked where in the "***" does the catch can fit under the hood of a 07 E63. Jonathan answered as soon as they pulled a E63 into the shop and sent the pic, 10 minutes max, behind the headlight which was my thought as there is no room as shown by the firewall. A phone call is always answered, Right Steve
Very happy using another fine well designed Weistec product, for all 63 owners, look into the billet pulley sets, plastic MB pulleys are so prone to failure.

FYI they've also got a bunch of instructions on their web site, and for the oil/air separator as well. Just be aware that the rest of the instructions were only moderately helpful as some of us ran into issues with fitment on the C63. But the headlight location is nicely highlighted there.

You possibly misunderstood my comment, the E63 has the engine ecu power cable running in the spot by the firewall so my query was just where did they recommend for my car, they had a 63 on site so the sent a picture of where it should go although it was tight it looks like it belongs there. As for instructions really it is quite simple, unbolt the PCV valve reposition the adaptor to the PCV hose to can hose from can back to engine what is so complicated. I take it the C63 is more crammed in that the E63.

Hi, no didn't misunderstand your comment, I understand the E63 is probably different, good point. The C63 is WAY more crammed, you have no idea. It's incredibly difficult, at least on my '14 model as there is a power cable running along the firewall, the oil dipstick runs where the OAS could sit, but there are additional items in the way too, and it's crammed in super duper tight. Ultimately, we (a few of us ran into this issue) could only position the PCV valve where it sits flush up against the firewall, which to my mind at least, isn't ideal. Moreover, the billet fittings were a f****r to get into place too. So it was a bear. But I finally got it done and so far, so good! I've got nothing but respect for Weistec too, and I've heard their customer service is awesome, so glad you too also had a great experience and get it all taken care of

is it true that our car does not have an air/oil separator of some sort from the factory, or do we and it is inefficient? don't all cars have one to some extent? just curious.

more or less it's a breather valve. it's not inefficient for what it was designed to do. it lacks a component to take out harmful spray the Germans just don't quite think about oil migrating everywhere and carbon build up.

is this breather valve the line that goes from the "y" pipe to the intake manifold (right adjacent to the pcv mounting hole)?

Gotta say that 200 miles after install I opened the canister and there was a surprising amount of oil. I am beyond a believer in this product now and can't imaging how much oil is blown by after thousands and thousands of miles. For those that must know how much a surprising amount is all I can say is that the entire bottom of the canister was covered about 2mm deep? Fantastic product.

I have over 600 miles on the car and see nothing in the can other than a smell of crank case.
Do you run high RPMs a lot, manual shifts, holding rpms in lower gears.
Just thinking that is a lot of blow by you are getting, is the oil level in the car at the correct place, (no over fill).
Would not worry though as you should still have warranty, have you had to add much oil in the 3800 miles to maintain?

Thanks for the concern but my engine is fine. Do most people read their manual? The manual clearly states that these engines may consume almost a QUART of oil every 600 miles. Especially when new. Blow by is one of the ways this consumption takes place and my catch can "caught it" fantastically!
