Not sure I understand you question. If you mean between oil changes it's once-a-year due to low miles put on car. In this case 3,671 miles.
If you mean run time each time I drive, it's 30-40 miles each way, a few days a month to a remote office or airport. Plus a few short trips in between.

Joe

I thought that was a same test (not a change) due to the low mileage
I cant imagine anyone changing a modern synthetic in <4k miles unless you jit the 1 yesr limit
Thanks

Why the 1 year limit any how and not JUST by miles?
Is that intended to cover the "1 mile commuter" who drives daily, but only a short distance?
What about someone who uses the car only infrequently, but drives 100-200 miles when using it? That could be a 4000 mile a year car, but has no reason to change a good synthetic oil because it wasn't 500 3 mile trips? No?

The on-board system tracks mileage and time. If one hits a year since last maintenance reset, it comes up again.
You can certainly change the oil at whatever frequency you choose. I do my own changes, so it's just filter and oil costs for me.
