Considering a 2009 Cue w 20k miles...
Hello all,
I'm considering a 2009 C63 from a non-Benz dealer. I was out test driving cars yesterday and I have to say I was really impressed with the car. More impressed than I thought I would be. The transmission was impressive and the torque was excellent... (most of my other vehicles are 6.1 to 8.0 liter motors). Car was super comfortable (side bolsters were a little snug for me) and the car felt very solid.
I'm having it taken to a MB dealer for a thorough PPI. After reading the M156 head bolt issues some are having... I'm a little nervous about buying a car out of warranty. I don't know that there is anything that can be inspected for this issue (check torque specs?).
Lastly, does MB offer a warranty that I can buy even if it's not purchased at a MB dealer? If so, does anyone have any input on what they typically charge?

MB CPO cars have an excellent warranty that covers the car for one or two years and unlimited mileage. The certification process is fairly rigorous and if a dealer won't sell a car as CPO it means something about the car won't pass.
But other than buying a CPO car from a dealer, MB doesn't have any warranty for used cars that are out of original warranty.
