GUTTED SECONDARIES?
Anyone have experience with gutted or empty secondaries as to pass visual for smog? Thinking about swapping for straights but don't want to deal with dealer warranties or smog checks so a gutted or hi flow seems like an option.
Thoughts?? Thanks for advice all opinions!!

race-cats all fail after a while and basically turn into straight pipes. it's the nature of their design.
if you want to keep the cat look, find some cheap cats from any car that will fit, gut them, install them

I wouldnt gut the OEM cats unless you can score a cheap set from a wreck. These things are expensive if you need them in a pinch.

"It is a test pipe that can be used to diagnose emissions issues or installed on pre-1975 vehicles that did not come with catalytic converters from the factory."
