I admit it I bought a red start button, never liked the carbon look and wasn't going to pay big bucks, saw one on ebay and bought it and it is great. It is just red, not carbon or carbon look, it is the full button not just the cap or overlay and it actually works (a bit to my surprise for the price) and looks great.

Sorry for bumping an old thread…but is the MACarbon option just an overlay or are you getting a whole button for that price?

You get the whole button. Mine has been rad for many, many years.

Is any programming required for a new button or does it not require anything other than just swapping in the new MACarbon button and it will just work?

Mine required no programming......although it's a 2012 car. not sure about the new MB's. Best thing to do is email John at MACarbon
