Hey guys! I just changed the psi to 38ish...and that did the trick I think!...I don't need to spend a dime now..woohoo! Ride is completely bearable now! Thanks guys for all the advice! This car will definitely tie me over until maybe the new c63...or my dream car....the GT3. You guys are gonna hate me but I do think the GT3 exhuast note sounds better than the c63.

Apart from that, I have a problem with the MCT transmission that no one else may have. I drive 90% in S+ mode, but it will downshift for no reason at all. For example, I'm in 6th gear, just feathering the throttle, suddenly it downshifts to 4th gear. Or I'm in 5th, and it downshifts to 3rd gear. And it only happens once in a while, when I'm between 3000-4000 rpm i think. Extremely annoying, and potentially dangerous. Anybody else have this problem? Hard to bring it to Mercedes attention since I can't replicate it.

If you're in S+ mode, it will downshift as soon as you go near the throttle. S+ is designed for the track. Try S or C modes. Or don't bother with automatic downshifting and drive in M

I drive a lot in S+ and have never had the experience of part-throttle downshifts for no reason. It does sound like something's amiss. I'd let the dealer run the diagnostics they have. I find S and S+ very similar unless you're driving hard.

If you REALLY want to soften up the ride, the absolute BEST way to do so is reduce your rotating unsprung mass. Lightweight 2-piece brake rotors are e best way to improve the stocks suspension performance.

In addition, get a set of Forgestar wheels and upgrade your tires to Michelin pilot Super sports (softest tire on the market).

If you do all three of those, not only will your cars performance be drastically increased, but your car will feel like it's driving on a cloud by comparison.

Moral of the story: your stock suspension is not the problem.... It's everything else that's attached to it!

Dude, just FYI running your tires well below spec can mean that when you are cornering hard or blasting around the neighborhood in S+ (which I also love to do) can mean that when you hit a pothole, or even corner too hard, you're going to have too much flex in your tire sidewall, and blow a tire not to mention wreck a rim. I also hope you know tire spec is determined on cold tires, yes the pressure goes up when they're hot, but don't use those numbers as accurate and then also run low, or you're be really, really low. I'm happy the ride feels better, but would just hate for you to slip a tire and go careening off the road with your nice, new squishy ride

Just my 2 cents. HTH

^^ And my 2¢ is that 38-40 lbs is the sweet spot for 18," a few lbs more for 19." I liked 39F/37R with the OE 18" wheels.

Get some non PP springs, should be easy with all the change overs to coil overs and H&R
Get some all season tires
Run the lowest pressure for the rated load or as indicated on the filler flap

Thanks, but the free 'set psi lower' satisfies my needs. I love free!

Actually I think the gas door says 38 or 39 is spec for light loads, so I don't think that will be a problem. Today when it was warmed up, it was 40 all around, which was still soft enough...before I was running 45-46 when warm.

Yup, the gas door does say that. But it's always cold pressure that's listed as spec, so always measure and compare cold and use that if it works for you. Yes, all pressures increase as temp goes up but that's taken into consideration when they set the spec tire pressures.
