What year did Al hood/front fenders debut
I believe that the original 2008 C63 hood was steel so I assume that the fenders were too. When did MB start using aluminum? My '13 sedan front fenders, hood and gas filler cover are aluminum. I can't seem to find this info.

Yea, I used a magnet too, Injenieur, to determine what isn't steel. So the gas door is plastic. Interesting. I just went out to the garage, popped the hood and checked the sub-structure with a magnet and it too appears to be Al with only the latches being steel. Maybe this is what SaphGreyC63 is referring to as '12 being the first year for the total hood assembly being Al? Anyway, thanks for the replies gentlemen and your C63 looks great Injenieur. Do you have any photos showing the wheel detail?
