To spoil or not to spoil, that is the ???
I answered no lol
Took 5 minutes to remove
Another 15 to get tape residue off
Another 15 for a light polish/wax
Almost all mark/stains/marrs came out
95% or better
Next full stripdown/polish/wax it'll get some special attention
No damage to the spoiler, can be easily replaced
I like it

Took a while to get all shut/body lines aligned
The curve at the top of the trunk melding into the fenders is a nice feature, kind of obscured by the spoiler

ha, idle hands! I'm always futzing around with my car as well. nice job, I think the car looks great with or without the spoiler, just depends on what look you're going for.

Nice rainy day project
It is all about taste, imo it looks 'tacked' on, like an after thought to differentiate models
Now the B7 RS4 spoiler is another story
Molded into the trunk and carries over to the fenders
Similar to ours without the spoiler, just dished a bit deeper and the lip raised a bit
A recent post about an 800 hp C63 got me thinking
It didn't have one and looked good, again personal preference
The C63BS wing adds ~100 lbs of down force
Our lip probably next to nothing

I agree about our wing being more cosmetic than functional. I'm sure it helps to clean up airflow over the trunk lid, but I can't imagine it creating any appreciable downforce. but then again, it is a street car! of course, none of this stopped me from getting a purely cosmetic big fins diffuser, lol.
Agreed
Don't think I'll be tearing around the streets like a scalded ape on meth
Your diffusor will help more than my deletion will hurt
Increasing air velocity under the car really helps

dunno, since it's just the rear piece. all the air flowing under the car and around the exhaust pipes won't get efficiently directed towards the diffuser, a lot of it will probably just get stuck on the backside of it. now if i could just somehow fab up a flat bottom for the car...

A couple of pics
Note the flow, barely on the lip and diffused and low velocity
Imagine the BS wing sitting about 12" higher
Right in the airstream

Good job regarding the removal!
Visually . . . it just looks like something is missing. I like how subtle the OEM spoiler is. The carbon fiber OEM spoiler is gorgeous.
Who gives a damn what I think though, it's your car and if you like it, that's all that matters.
On a side note, the OEM spoiler that comes on the C300 and C350 Sport is completely different (it's larger) than the C63 AMG spoiler.

And it is personal preference
You liking the spoiler in not 'wrong'
It' a blonde vs brunette thing...no absolutes lol
I like subtle but who am I to say guys who like optik mods like wheels, lips, wraps, etc are wrong? As long as they like it...cool
I wonder if the spoiler delete is an option in Germany
Many times model designation badging is

To clarify, I think the trunk still looks great without the spoiler. I suppose I'm just so used to seeing a spoiler of some variety on the car.
Some of the aftermarket solutions look tacky. I really like both the OEM variants (CF and non-CF), the Mode Carbon spoiler, the Black Series wing, and the Vorsteiner spoiler. The Revozport spoiler is nice, too.

Didn't think you were judging or being negative
It does look odd at first like something is missing lol
I looked on the German site and they have ordering guides
I think it can be deleted, they have 100's of specific options, not just packages

I know you can opt for a spoiler delete on BMW M cars.

The OEM spoiler is perfect for this car IMO. I've tried to warm up to more aggressive (larger) spoilers and it just hasn't happened. How about a good side shot of the whole car sans spoiler?

I like your c300
You brought up the b7 RS4. I loved mine and it was very good looking. While the C63 catches your eye immediately with the hood and some flaring the RS4 just sort of is there and you slowly pick up on the wide body and that rear end.
Om nom nom.

I noticed this right away today when we met up. I think it is a tasteful delete. I also appreciate the oem look. And I of course took it in the opposite direction. Like most have said, all in personal preferance.
