Straight Pipes

Straight Pipes
Ok, so i'm bored and have started playing around with the wife's C63 against her wishes.
I'd picked up a cheap set of used headers for her car but have since been offered a good amount of $$ for them so i'm deciding whether i should keep them and install them on her car (that means ill have to get her car retuned) or just sell them and have a play around with a Straight Pipe System.
The car has a tune and sec cat delete, basically that's it everything else is stock, 18" wheels etc. I'm not going to go too crazy spending $$ on her car.
I'd rather spend the $$ on my 63.
So i was thinking of doing a full straight pipe system on her car.
That would be: res delete and primary cat delete just to have a play around. Has anyone done a full straight pipe set up on a C63?
I've had it done on other cars and i absolutely loved it.
Point is, should i or shouldn't i? And if anyone has done this can they submit a video?
Thanks

I had my 2009 with straights from primaries to the mufflers. Sounded like a crazy loud Harley lol. If I'd recommend it,hmm I'd say since its all personal preference sure why not? Cheaper than headers and a exhaust system and the hp increase isnt bad. I'd recommend an x pipe, because well, the sound of my full ap which is equipped with an x pipe sounds better to me for some reason. I loved my old set up dont get me wrong, I'd say play around and go for it! A decent x pipe wouldnt cost more than 300 with install down the road anyways. Just KEEP the mufflers!!!

I've wondered about just doing a primary cat delete for cost/convience. HMS has this setup which uses the stock headers, although I don't know of many using this setup.
Here is my new decat from HMS!

If she has a tune already. Will removing primary cats throw up a code? Or will it adapt?
Also if it does throw a code is it a matter of just plugging into the ecu with a diagnostic and clearing it?

If the tune is set so as to not report or ignore the rear O2 senors you will be good to go. The ECU will adapt for the removed cats. There may be a small advantage to an updated tune for primary cat removal depending on the tuner. If the O2 sensors throw a code for the cat delete you will need an updated tune for no primary cats. If you can clear the code with a code reader it will just come back.

Back in the day I welded extended bungs in the exhaust pipe to move the o2 sensors out of the exhaust flow and eliminate the CEL. This was on OBD2 turbo DSMs and an early WRX. Same principal should work if you want to remove primaries without throwing a light...
will be LOUD on the 6.2 though

My setup is straight piped all the way through into my Eisenmann Race cat back.
Secondaries + reso deleted. Sound pretty damn mean in person, enough to shake your insides. But its still extremely refined. I found the stock catback to be too raspy with the secondaries + Reso deleted.
Quick video of a dyno run I did with it.
