The only people who will think the W204 looks outdated are those on MB World. Most others have no idea what they are looking at.

I do agree the TT engine with a tune should make much more power and the mag ride and adjustable mag engine mounts should make for a better track car and one that rides better on rough roads.

Agreed. The W204 Coupe looks much better than the new sedan, and in fact I'm not sold on the new sedan looks, I don't like the rounded back. But those Pilot Sport tires really hang on, and it drives well. With 4 adults in the car it hurled around a track like a pro. No doubt it is a better car but will wait to see the new coupe

HiGuys,

I find myself at similar cross roads at the moment as well, Absolutely loving the 507,still feels very special and the colour really gives the car presence & exclusivity.

The problem is like many humans I have an obsession with consumerism.. wanting that new and next flashy big purchase item. Unfortunately this obsession can discount you from appreciating what you currently have cause your too busy obsessing over that next big ticket item.

I think the W205 is a fantastic bit of kit, new tech and an obvious step up with features etc, esp in standard trim.. hell even the LSD is finally standard on a 500hp+ car. I’m just not sold on the look of the W205 sedan, also the engine, whilst being faster and probably a torque monster esp after a tune, will it feel as special or as raw as the 6.2L in a year or 2 when most performance cars are turbo charged … Guess if you are a mod head, it will be turbo all the way but what if you're a purist … If you were given a choice between a 911 turbo & 911 GT-RS which one would you take..

So I guess the question is will the new W205 Coupe feel special enough for me to part with my 507. My heart says no but this render says otherwise …. It looks great from this angle at least.

Mike

This is the best rendering I've seen to date. Looks much better than the C63S sedan I ogled at my dealership.

Unfortunately your description of yourself describes me to a 'T' . I love my 507 and while in the market to buy it all I could think of was a NA C63 507.
Now, I still love the car but can't help but to think of what to buy in a year or two.
And I'm jonesing for a 911 GT3 or mid engine ZR1 if its produced.

I had a w205 c63s.... Poor build quality, but fast and lovely motor trans.
Stay away until they get bugs fixed and/or stop building them in Alabama.

Absolutely Agree. W205 is nice, but definitely a step down in the build quality department vs. the W204.
It's not quite as solid... switches don't move with quite the same precision...
the doors sound less like the cliche bank vault when you close them.

Surge - spot-on.

I just traded-in my 2015 c63S W205 yest after 5k miles of ownership, and I p/u a 507 ed W204. I realized something was different in the W205.. but not completely until I got in the seat of my new-to-me 507 ed. Totally diff level of build quality, feel, and ka-thunk of the doors/hood/trunk. If you want the "german build quality" do not buy the bama-built models.

Exactly why I bought the last of the 2015 507 coupes. I think it is a torque monster, at least compared to my E92 M3. It is a fairly raw engaging car.

I wanted the last of the big block normally aspirated 6.2 liter engine. I generally prefer normally aspirated engines. Lastly, I feel comfortable owning the last year production of a well sorted car.

The only negative is that I don't get that instant thrust of torque, down low, when I compare my Edition 507 vis-a-vis my CLS 550 C4. If you like instant torque, wait for the new 4.0 TT.

In the end, I think I will appreciate/prefer the aggressive/bull dog stance of the Edition 507 over the ovoid look of the new C63 AMG. This is just my opinion.

In the end, the fact that you are deciding on two great cars is a win-win...

Love the vault feel from my 507 and the engaging steering feel.

1st ride home from work in my (new to me) 507....... such a solid feel, and easy to get in/out.

Beast of a car, and so much personality.

Side-note, picked up a screw on the way home.... had to put a repair on the tire... and WOW are those wheels LIGHT! My first set of forged wheels.
the front wheels seems a bit narrow for the task, but I'm not complaining.
