Needing more sidewall on OEM 507 19" wheels

Looking to up the tire size to add some sidewall on the OEM 19" 507 wheels. I ran 245/40/18 and 275/35/18 on a previous C63 and enjoyed the increase in diameter over the stock setup. What options do I have to get the maximum amount of sidewall? I know there are already threads about max width, and it seems 275 w/o spacers is the max safe width.

You don't want to have more sidewall or mess around with diameters by too much.

If you want more sidewall then drop down to 18's. Then you can have more sidewall.

Are you sure you want more sidewall or more width?

You can only go up to 275 in the stock 9" diameter. Some tire manufacturers run wider than others. Goodyears run pretty wide.

On 275's, the most sidewall you can run is 35. The 1st number is width and the 2nd number represents the percentage of the 1st number that the tire is tall(more sidewall). If you wanna run a 275, you can't go with more sidewall than a 35. Even if you backed down to a 265, I still don't think you can run a 40, unless you are rolling stock height and you have fairly nice roads to roll on. I rocked some 265/40's on my 2010 and things were fine until half of my neighbor and commute were under construction. I've been rolling 275/30's for 2+ years on 2 different C63's and have been very happy.

OP now has 7mm more sidewall than OE fitment anyway. Why more...and more...not understanding?

Yeah, he is at max already. That was the point I am making. I don't understand it either?

Maybe OP can enlighten us on why he wants more sidewall.

Need more sidewall due to poor road conditions. Already got a bubble in one tire. I also like the look of thicker sidewalls. Not particularly concerned about maximizing tire width on the 19s.

Most people are trying to get max width, so I usually jump to and address that issue. Even though I did understand your post and did address the sidewall height. But I have to say, you'd be hard pressed to get anything more than a 40 off a 19"wheel in that wheel well w/out some kind of rubbing. I do understand the desire though. I'd rather have more meat b/c of the streets to protect the wheel, more than I want a wide tire.

Best route is downsizing to 18's.

I'll trade wheels if you'd like and pay shipping for both sets
