Hey everyone. Ive been on this site for a couple years now. Great info for a sports car newb like me. I have a ton of stuff planned for my car (2012 P31), but never pulled the trigger on anything. Just way too busy with work and family. I keep hearing about everyone modding their cars to get more out of their engines, but I never hear about anyone taking steps to improve their driving skills. I'm assuming most drivers of this special car don't have too much experience racing cars. Has anyone taken performance driving lessons. If so, do you have any recommendations (besides AMG driving academy) of schools that specialize in performance driving?

 

Just go to track days trust me you ll learn A LOT

 

Yup as noted above go to a track or autocross day!

 

They have a 2 or 3 day racing school at Mid-Ohio. I took this a while back and had a blast. The last 2 days you spend all day on the course. You can use their track prepped cars or bring your own. The instructors are Ex-racers and know their stuff. Brian Till was the lead when I was there.

You can often find instructors which work for driving schools that will work freelance. They are not cheap, but you get 100% attention.

I did this once and it paid off big. Also, if your skills are already good, they can usually get you moved into the faster groups at a track day.

 

Question. What does this have to do with grand theft auto? I assume you just mean to write grand touring or something to that effect? lol.
