Thumbs down Tis the season, Carbon Fiber in the winter

Do you switch out your carbon fiber parts in winter?

I'm not talking about California winter, I'm talking snow/salt/extreme cold winter.

Or do you run your carbon year round? Is carbon more prone to cracking in cold temperatures?

Park your wife C63 & use your wife C300 lol

Seriously, CF will do fine in winter but dont hit anything with your CF front lip cuz it will crack in no time.

She has given me permission to drive the 63 to work so I figured I'll be driving it in winter.

Winter tires have been ordered for both vehicles.

a car
Carbon is no different than any other painted part on any car. All protected by a clear coat of some sort (obviously some higher quality than others).

You should be fine as long as you don't use your front lip to plow your driveway

No issues whatsoever with a CF lip and diffuser on my Audi S4 in six Candian winters (even occasionally scraping and plowing the driveway). It will shatter it you hit a raccoon though... even if it's not frozen and/or it's not in winter.

I often wonder about carbon fiber and fresh vs frozen raccoons as well. That answers that question Lol

As long as you're not backing into any snow banks you'll be fine.
