It isnt hard at all. If you pull at a right angle to te letters once it tears cleanly. While you can definitely peel the letters if you want to, I didnt have a single issue with it not breaking clean right at the edges.
I used a toothpick to get a hole in the interior of the A, the star, and 6. The more coats you put on the thicker the ovespray, and it makes gripping and peeling easier IMO.

Looks good, I assumed most people took the emblems off to dip them.....how hard was it to trim away the extra and leave the emblems good?
I'm trying to do my grille this weekend and it's hard as heck to keep it from bubbling
Nm you answered above, I was looking at my tacoma yesterday thinking the grille emblem really needed to be blacked out too

My wife said the same thing! Ill see what i have left in the can and maybe shoot it tomorrow.
I did alot of light coats and didnt have any bubbling problems. Took a little extra time but I was doing house chores between coats anyway.

Could be. I want to do the front running lights next, and maybe the side badging. Torn between doing them and ordering the BS 6 3 and replacing them.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Also, the reason this works so well for emblems is because the emblem isn't touching the body. The plastidip doesn't even have to tear because what you peel away isn't even attached to emblems to begin with.

I think there maybe another way to do this.
Check with your car dealer. They likely have a guy they can refer you to that they use. Ever seen the gold color badges on cars? This is done at the dealer on the vehicle with some kind of electrical process that takes just seconds. It can be done in black as well as gold.

I think you can get metal badging in different colors too. The thing I like about the dip is you can peel it off if you dont like it, redo it, change colors.
It really isnt hard to do.

Finally did mine. Really easy. It looks nice.
Didn't do the chrome line under the MB sign because there is chrome on the front and sides and wanted to keep the style all around.

I'm thinking of doing the front grille except the MB Star and front LED chrome housing? Any tips? Will I need to remove the grille along with the LED housing or is it a viable option to just leave it and mask it?

Congrats g-f. In a few weeks Im going to do the front.
Razzy, you should be able to mask and do everything on the car. Make sure you block or mask the radiator. Il be doing the outline and center fin on the grill I think, along with the dtr chrome housings. Ill also be doing the side badges as well.
