Can our engine be scaring people off?

Can our engine be scaring people off?
I have owned my C63 for only about 6-7 weeks but I have had more people signifying me disaproval than the 5 years in my modified Lotus Elise and 3years in my modified 996TT combined!
Usually they show some sign of being upset after I passed them with wide open throttle. Not doing anything stupid like cutting them off or doing anything unsafe, just passing them pedal to the metal. Like I've done hundreds of times in my life.
But only with the C63 did I get bad reactions from the passed drivers. WTF?
My only guess is they get scared off by the loud and deep (border line maniac) sound of the 6.2l.
Why do you think? Do you get the same reactions?

Yeah. I get that question a lot too. People give thumbs up or giggle when I blast around a lite bit. Someone that caravaned to a cars and coffee behind me asked what I did to the exhaust. I told him, "I just painted the tips black. That's it"

Not sure if it's considered negative reactions but when I'm coming to a red light downshifting in manual mode (for the sexual noises ) I get some weird stares sitting at the light..

With my headers I get looks all the time. Usually disgust from soccer moms and envy from other men.
It's winter here now, two nights ago I was driving my girlfriend home and having a bit of fun with the paddle shifters during. When I came to a stop at a light this lady locked eyes with my girlfriend and just gave her this horrible stare. So of course I launched from the light, and on studded tires it's quite the show.

lol only way to react
Get people flash when I pass, but not had any negative comments, some silly old fool waving me to slow down as he walked down the road, I was doing bang on the speed limit lol
Just the noise makes it sound your well over

I hear what you all are saying, LOL. I've been asked what I've done to the exhaust (answer: nothing). I've also had people yell at me to slow down while going well under the speed limit - and in one case I maybe drove by later and did burn outs in front of the irritated individuals residence.

ford svt's, and C63!!!
I think most are in dis-belief, because of the car's actual personality compared to it's looks. I know it's a nice looking car, however; it sounds and runs a lot harder than it should by the looks of 'em. That's the main reason we own ours.
If I didn't own one or know of them, I'd probably have a "stunned" look on my face if one was getting on it near me too, hahahaha.

I had like others, many times people waving me to slow down while I was under the speed limit because of the noise I make downshifting. I didn't have too many bad reactions of upset people though, except once I upshifted at WOT under a tunnel and my friend in a convertible mustang told me he lost an ear
Oh, and once I used it to scare pedestrians off the road. They didn't like it

The sound which is music to our ears is just "noise" for most other people. Sometimes, I let my wife drive the C63 and I drive behind her in my other car. when she downshifts, I have seen a lot of people turns their head in disgust lol.

Had an old lady honk and give me a dirty look as she drove past as we came to a stop light. I passed her just earlier after turning onto the road and had the revs around 4k in 1st. F'em if they don't like it. I don't give two sh*ts what other people think.

I think this pretty much sums up how you should deal with haters...

as long as you arent driving like an out of control idiot forget what anyone thinks.
I normally just drive in S mode and dont get many sneers but downshifing at a light in M i've had a few looks.

Just got my straight pipes (secondary cat and res delete) installed and all I can say is holy ****. Paired with the eurocharged V5 tune when I downshift it sounds like shotgun blasts!

I like to aim my go-pro at people when they yell stuff at me. They get all embarrassed.
Here's a video someone grabbed of me and put in a Calgary car forum... http://forums.beyond.ca/st/386283/c63/

Yeah they were all basing assumptions off the video. Then deeper in a guy claims he heard me and it was terrible, even though I had Akrapovic on at that point (which is pretty quiet).
