The million dollar question on new tires, with a twist!
Haven't seen this posted by anyone, but looking through the options on new rears, after only getting a whopping 5,200 miles out of the crap Pirreli P-Zeros.
Planning to upgrade to the 275 rears, stock 18's, stock suspension, and here is the question:
Has anyone used the BFG G-Force Super Sport A/S? Being in Dallas, there is still significant Rain, occasional ice, and cooler weather, so an ultra high-performance all season wouldn't be a bad idea as this is a daily car. Treadwear (taking this with an 80lb bag of salt) is 400, so pretty healty, and price point is not bad at $193 each listed on TireRack.
If not these, I'll probably go with the PSS as everyone else suggests, or maybe I'll just bite the bullet and go right for the NT-05. Had those on my 03 Cobra and loved them!
Thanks for the input fellas!

I just got a set of 4 PSS and love the gripyness so far but I don't rely on this car in the rain so it wasn't a huge concern for me.
I will say that i've hated every BFG tire i've ever owned and none of them lasted anywhere close to the mileage maybe got 25% of it.

Look into the Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3.
Basically an All-Season with higher treadwear version of the PSS. I've had them on for about 8,000 miles so far and I love them. Great grip in the dry, decent grip in the wet and cold, and treadwear is good, still think I can get another decent 3-4000 miles on them (so about 6-7K more than the stock Contis)

Here's a chart
It is good for all brands, the rating are a standard
http://www.tiresafety.com/images/tir...t%20manual.pdf
For example using oem 235/40/18
SL is 91 at 41 psi ( oem heavy load pressure) 1356 lbs
XL is 95 at 41 1477 lbs
Plus the XL has stiffer sidewalls

You're kind of all over the place considering all seasons and Nittos. My thoughts:
nt05 - Basically drag radials for the street. I wouldn't get these if this is your only car.
PSS - Best grip, but will you really notice a difference over the other tires? Not sure. They are fine in rain as long as temps are over 40ish. They don't grip quite as well in the cold, but are drivable as long as it's dry. You won't be going anywhere on snow or ice though.
Conti DW - still a summer tire, but a nice mix of performance and usability - should be a little better than the PSS in the cold. Won't grip as well as PSS when hot out. I think you would be fine with these in Dallas.
Conti DWS - a very popular all season model that despite being called a "no season tire" by the haters perform just as well as PSS and better than cheap summer tires for most street driving. You can drive in light snow on these. May be overkill for Dallas though - great for areas in the middle of the US that get occasionally snow and very cold weather. 540 treadwear vs. 300ish for DW/PSS.

Yeah, the Nittos were the extreme, haha!
But you are pretty much on point: It's really between the PSS or the DW at this point. Going to check them out this weekend maybe since mine are pretty much toast!

Have been running Michelin pilot sports A/S run flats and have only been getting 6k miles and there gone just took off my second set. Trying yok s drives. Have about 500 miles on them . They are a lot smother seem a lot more responsive they are 100 times better in the rain and snow. . Thee yoks compare to the michelins are wider and taller feels the gap in nice takes a lot more effort to break the tires loose . Running 275. Rear 245 frts

I have the Michelin A/S on my rears at 265. They've lasted MUCH longer than the PSS that I had on the rears prior. I like the A/S. They're not as sticky but they're still great tires. I have had no load problems what so ever with them. I would recommend them to anyone.

275/40 is crazy your speedometer will be off by like 10% vs stock 18s. 275/35 is also a lot of sidewall.
275/30 is what most people do for 19" or if your offset isn't high enough 265/30. With both the speedometer will be off 1-2% (not an issue).

The Continental ExtremeContact DW "max performance summer" tires are some of the best street tires I've ever used. Good looks? Check. Soft/quiet ride? Check. Great dry traction? Check. Insane wet traction? Absolutely. Good steering/turn-in feel? You bet.
Michelin PSS tires are outstanding but the DW tires stack up quite nicely. They're an absolute bargain for what they offer.
