Anyone interested in American Racing Headers Group Buy?

Anyone install or plan on installing this setup (ARH headers and mid Xpipe) with stock resonator and mufflers? I’ve read elsewhere it gets intense with the stock mufflers (aka trumpets).
Just trying to get a sense of total cost.
So far, it’d be this discounted price (which is still expensive) plus labor to install.. plus any cost to mod catback to make the setup livable in an urban neighbor.
Note - I already have a V5 tune, which EC can adjust for headers. I also already have secondary cat delete (straight pipe). Would this be another option instead of the Xpipe that comes with these headers? Or would this be even more obnoxious?
Thanks!

^^^That pic clearly shows the stock resonators. I thought the x-pipe was near where the secondary cats go.

Even with an X-Pipe in place, with a LTH setup its going to be loud.
A recommendation for those who wish to try and keep the tone down a bit (if using the stock catback)
X Pipe the Secondary Cats + add High Flow cats on the down pipe (they act as resonators as well)
You can also keep the stock resonators in place to aid in toning the Long tubes down.
If you invest in a decent quality cat back, you can go straight catless + removal of the resonators. Essentially a straight piped setup. Which sounds very good for every day driving.

To those interested in the AR C63 LT Header and X-Pipe GB
Please email Nick at American Racing directly: nick@americanracingheaders.com
1) Please put “MBW C63 GB” in the title of the email
2) Please include your full name, billing (and shipping address if different from billing) address, and phone number in the email
3) Please state whether you’d like a catalytic (49 state legal 200 cpi metallic substrate cats) or off-road X-pipe.
Someone from AR will then get back to you to ensure you have a spot on the list. Shipping date for the first 10 sets is set for this Friday December 5th, the same day the GB ends!

Placed my order, should be ready to ship Friday or earlier. Deal is apparently going on until end of this week ONLY. Guys, I honestly think it's a great deal, 4 in one longtube headers, 3 inch exhaust pipe including an X-pipe. Contact ARH for more info.

That's awesome! I'm planning on taking a drive to ARH and picking up my catted setup this weekend.

One of the reasons it is so much cheaper is the inferior grade of the 409 stainless steel that they use.

I didn't get a response in the MBH group buy and I posted on Sunday, just got off phone with Nick at AR he said they will extend the GB for another week or so due to good results so far.
I've used AR on my LS1 and LS3 Vettes and last on my Boss 302, never had an issue and always made great power. Gotta find out whats on my car now but Nick so no issue with holding the GB price for me till end of week.

A few people have asked me to post up some pictures of the headers that I picked up from American Racing warehouse. The folks at ARH was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable.

Agreed. You typically see diesel truck exhausts which are very affordable but rust after a few hundred miles using 409 SS. I call 409 the "white zin" of stainless steel lol.

Darren says people also misunderstand stainless steel. Most systems are made from 316 or 304 grade material. This is good for polishing but bad for exhaust headers. These grades expand tremendously when hot and if, in that condition, they get splashed with water from a puddle they immediately undergo local shrinkage and crack. This is bad. D.P.E uses 409 grade stainless because it doesn’t expand anywhere near as much and doesn’t suffer that problem. The thing is, 409 stainless is somewhat magnetic. People have been known to check it with a magnet, find that it sticks, think they’ve been ripped off and start swinging. What makes it seem even worse is that 409 can also develop surface rust. Although it doesn’t rust through like mild steel people still feel that they’ve been cheated. Ironically 409 lasts about ten times longer than the other grades, which is why OE manufacturers use it and can include the exhaust system in a five year warranty.

You can coat anything fwiw.
I would have to strongly disagree with what's posted. All major US header manufacturers as far as I know including AR, MBH, Stainless Works, Kooks, etc use 304 and 316. I have personally had 3 sets of AR headers with crossover pipe on previous cars, two vettes and one Boss stang, and all were made from 316 and 304 and never had any issues of any kind. AR offers a lifetime warranty on all their systems, I'm pretty sure at least a few of the others listed do to.
OEMs use 409 because its inexpensive, all they care about is cutting costs.
Even Burns who many claim to be the best in the exhaust business only use 304 and 316. 304 and 316 are significantly more expensive grades of stainless than 409 and that again is another reason the RHD 409s are so inexpensive.
If you do some research on 304 and 316 and more on backpurging the 316 TIG welds you'll find even more reasons why U.S. manufacturers use the materials they use.
