K40 or V1 radar
Anyone have a K40 radar detector with jammer in there C63. was wondering on how it performs. Any feed back comparison to the Valentine 1. I know the price difference between the two are way off, but which one out performs the other. gonna figure both the same just user preference.

FWIW I just got my passport max2 and it is awesome.
I've used all three and used to be a dealer for K40.
Personally I like the escort detectors performance over the V1 but I like the V1 over the K40.

K40 is outdated. V1 is highly sensitive and drove me bonkers with false alerts. We have traffic sensors on our interstates that make it go off every minute. I got to the point where I did not listen to alerts anymore and got a ticket.
Now I switched to the Escort Passport Max and those have 1. traffic sensor suppression, and 2. GPS enabled services. Those show you fixed cameras as well as learn about other fixed radar sources, like door openers, and no longer alert to those after driving by the same a couple times. Now I drive to work and know that pretty much every alert is something real.
A Valentine with the intelligence of location awareness would be a good thing. But as is, the V1 is state of the art 10 years ago and did not upgrade a thing since then.

For built in performance, I'm guessing escort 9500 would be the way to go...K40 def not.

The V1 can be combined with GPS lockout features by utilizing the Android app YaV1 which is available on Google Play. You need to have an updated V1 with ESP (version 3.891 or newer) and the V1 bluetooth dongle V1 Connection for android. You also need a compatible android phone. Most android phones released in the past two years are compatible. The newest V1 version features a newer k band false suppression filter named TMF2 which almost totally eliminates falses from traffic sensors and blind spot monitoring devices.
The app also allows you to more easily set up you user settings on the V1, plus additonal options to further "tune" the V1 to be a more sensitive radar detector.

V1 + YaV1 and all your problems are solved.
Escort and Passports are garbage in comparison to a V1 programmed right. People that think V1 gives too many false alarms (being a reason to get rid of it) probably struggled to program their VCR clocks back in the day. The V1 does exactly what a radar detector is designed to do. It's up to the user to make it work for their particular area and utilize a GPS app in conjunction with Savvy and a smart phone to get the most out of it.
Situational awareness is everything

Now that I've been using my passport maxx2 for a week. I am very happy with the escort live community in my area. I drive a fun commute every day which can be littered with sneaky highway patrol.
Luckily 85k+ people commute the same highway every day and apparently I am not the only one with escort live. I know where the cops are sitting in real time before I even get to them.
To the OP I suggest you search for an unbiased opinion from some of the radar experts online who make a hobby out of reviewing detectors.
Also look out for outdated technology that isn't up to date with the bands used in driving automation(distronic).
