Tire size question

I have stock 19" tires on my car 235/35/19 front and 255/30/19 rear...stock wheels

Will it be ok if I put on 255/35/19 front and 285/30/19 rear, like the black series? I'm pretty sure that it should be ok but I want to make sure of it....thanks in advance for your responses....

don't recommend that combo, especially on stock wheels?

What is your rationale for that?

I guess rickclass meant the tire will be too wide for the width of the oem rims making the sidewalls bulgy & mushy which will affect handling.

Wider tires do improve traction on straight line though.

hmmm....my main reason for getting wider tires is the look, especially on the rears from behind....

It will sure look beefy lol

But again, u might not like the handling while cornering. I would use 285 on x9.5 or x10 rims to be on the safe side. 275 on stock x9 is better & look nicer.

I'm siding with rickclass on this. I doubt tires more than an extra inch wide will fit the stock rims - check the manufacturers rim specs on whatever tire you're buying. You've also got about a 3% greater tire diameter, and the general rule of thumb is to stay within 2%.

If the OP is after a better look, especially from behind, maybe 275 and spacers would be the answer?

19x9 with 275/30 & 10mm hubcentric spacers will rub over bumps & dips .. Not much options there.

265 with spacers? Or even OEM 255 with spacers?

Yes, I'm running 255/30 with 10mm spacers lowered on h&r .. Very tight fit but no rubbing at all. 265/30 might clear depending on the tire brand (rounded or square sidewall).

I don't recommend using 5mm spacers as they don't come hubcentric which might creat vibrations.

I put on 275's on the stock 18's and it looks great man! Ill be putting 245's in front next summer to get the same look as the rear. Looks nice and full but doesn't look ugly or ruin my handling. Oh and theres a lot more hooking now

Stock wheels in 19" are 8" front and 9" rear. If your wheels are not these sizes then they are not stock wheels.
